I put together stock images for size comparison. It is a lot beefier than the X-T2 (as expected) but smaller than 645Z

GFX, X-T2 and Pentax 645Z

after the third image it says price. It won't let me copy and paste from the article

The actual information is that pricing has not been finalized and will be "well under $10k." If I had to guess that means $8-9k for a kit. Don't believe anything you read on the Phoblographer's site. That dude is worse than Rockwell for actual information.

Well it was the only one to put anything about pricing. I usually don't follow that site.

the hasselblad is about the same price point and would be considered a competitor no?

The Hasslblad is more expensive than the Fujifilm.

The Hassleblad is $8995 plus the cost of one of its 2 introductory lenses which are either Hasselblad XCD 45 3.5 for $2295 or the Hasselblad XCD 90 3.2 for $2695.

The Fujifilm camera is less than $10,000 including the Fujifilm 63mm lens.

My point is they're about the same price and are mfd mirrorless so they're competition for each other. Honestly so far the fuji sounds like a better native system (so far) since they have timeline of lens releases. Hassie said there will be more but haven't mentioned them. +/- 1000 for this type of camera still makes either competitive with each other

Since the Fujifilm is supposed to be well below $10,000 with the lens, it could be $2,000 or more less than the Hasselblad. We don't know yet for sure. But this camera and the Hasselblad, as well as the Pentax (at least to some degree) witll be somewhat competitite and the Leica S will be to a lesser extent.

This is definately a camera I will own at some point. Not sure I will be an early adopter though as I may wait it out for a price drop...and for any initial bugs to be worked out.

I have to say, I'm impressed by the move and the looks, but pricing is not "amazing" vs the competition from Hassy.

I would also prefer a leaf shutter though since this is a system build from scratch...only matters for flash photography really, but personally I think it is a lost opportunity. They have leaf shutters in their X100 line ffs, and so did their last film MF cameras...

Pentax cannot do more than 1/125 sync speed with their plane shutter & same size sensor, think Fuji - even if faster than that - won't be far from that figure.

Perhaps Fujifilm might offer some lenses with leaf shutters. They may listen to the public and decide to offer such lenses as well.

From other angles, the camera appears to be quite thick... perhaps thicker than the Hasselblad?

Any word on whether or not it's X-Trans CFA?? If so, will be interesting to see how it performs vs. the Hassy and 645Z in respect to 3rd party raw converters and fine detail.

Am I late to the obligatory "Texas XT-2" moniker? Looks like a great system — one I'll be lusting for from a distance for years to come I'm sure.

From what fujirumors has posted, this will not have an X-Trans sensor.

Considering how small they managed to keep it, having the built-in focal plane shutter could be the best of both worlds if they ended up having lenses with leaf shutters as well. Unlike the Hassy, it should be easy to adapt a lot of MF lenses to this system.

That is my hope as well so that I can even adapt lenses like a few Leica R lenses including my Leica R 28mm f 2.8 Super Angulon PC (which I will also be using on my A7r/Cambo Actus system) and as I mentioned above hopefully it will also be adaptable to either the Cambo Actus and/or the Cambo Actus DB2 which will allow rise/fall/shift, tilts, and swings to the ability for the camera.

Anyone else notice that the EVF is removable? Sounds like Fuji will have a tiltable EVF you can replace the stock EVF with. I wonder if they'll come out with a waist level finder of some kind.

Yes, reading the Fuji press release, they will be coming out with a mechanism that fits between the hotshoe and EVF to allow it to tilt AND rotate.
