It's not for me. I know from my year with a P645Z (now sold) that I can't hold it still enough to make the MF world work handheld and I don't like tripods. No advantage for me over a 24mp sensor.
Despite the appearance, I don't think there is a flapping mirror to compromise IQ handheld. It's also very likely much lighter - maybe half the weight - vs a P645Z if that is the case.

All good points but I remember what Nikon said when the 36MP D800 came out and how your technique (tripod aperture choices) needed to be perfect to get the most out of the camera. It's just not how I work.

Nah, looks like a Contax 645 and that makes it to me far more attractive as a real working platform.
I've had my fun with the Contax645. Had at one point 4 full working sets of it. Thought that I'd use them forever. Just got sick of them to be honest. Leica M cameras with their simplictic controls kinda won me over. So a nice compromise of buttons to simplicity would be nice. All I really honestly need in a camera (AF or not) is a physical shutter speed dial, aperture on the lenses and a quick way to change ISO. Anything else if implemented cleverly is icing on the cake. The X-T2 is pretty quick, but to be honest some buttons annoy me more than help me. As I use it, I'm learning that I'm more into minimalistic cameras.
Especially the little AF selection knob. It's really just in the wrong place for my hands. So much so that when I can, I've just reverted to focusing and recomposing like the knob isn't even there.
Though as Ian Boys just mentioned.. The 24mp crop sensor seems to be more than enough for my IQ needs.

Adam have you tried the X-Pro 2? May be more to your taste (as well as having the joystick in a good place). It's a simpler camera and suits me quite nicely.

Shame to hear you sold your Pentax. No problem for me to hand hold.
BTW A Mirrorless MF camera should be easyer to hand hold.

Hopefully the camera will have a focal plane shutter, accept manual focus lenses from other makers by way of adapater and can be adapted to the Cambo Actus and/or the Cambo Actus DB2.

I hope it a raving success. I won't be getting one though. Still have so much room for improvement in my own photography that a MF camera would be wasted on me.
On the other hand I'm looking forward to getting the improved AF of an X-T2
The first three lenses will be: the GF 63mm F2.8 R WR, a GF32-64mm F4R LM WR and GF 120mm F4 Macro.
These will be followed by a GF23mm F4 R LM WR and GF110mm F2 in Mid 2017 and a GF45mm F2.8 R WR in late 2017
Fujifilm says its target price for the GFX 50S with 63mm standard prime will be 'well under $10,000.'
Lens-wise, it seems they're following the logic of the X system lens rollout, to some degree. Makes sense for enthusiasts and reassuring about what the lens options will be.
