My lab did some work for the AF2 of the late 1980s. I got to go inside once. It was a dump. Paneling on the walls, wire harnesses going everywhere.
It was being used for testing new electronics. We had a voice recognition system on it. Neat work.
Good shot!
Precisely. The President uses the 757 when (relatively) short takeoff and landing capabilities are required, and the VP and the First Lady typically use the 757 for their own trips. They also have smaller jets available when needed.
That's what I thought too. No matter the plane, if the president is on it, it's #1... Same thing with Marine 1. Was awfully close to us. Very, very cool though.
wow, how did you get these shots without being stopped or questioned? I was out today taking ***fall foilage around my school*** today and I was already stopped by an overzealous security office from the museum next door when I planted my tripod in the museum's carpark.
My boss's dad has a house that's real close to the end of the runway. We went there around 2:00PM today. Plane came in around 4:00PM. Plenty of police presence though.
Is it just me, or does it seem unfair that W can use AF1 to campaign? Canadian here, so not entitled to an opinion. I suspect its an issue for all incumbent world leaders.
