Yep their own webpage does say they have been hacked. Also, if you look at what they have for sale it looks as though they have have every lens by every major manufacturer in as new condition for under half price; and that's not likely.

Thanks. Thought I'd post here but seller with pretty good feedback over the last year has 3 of these left (used/like new) at $1,050.00. Enjoy. Picked one up and look forward to testing it soon. I miss my rx1r already and hopefully this will put me at ease

I saw this when I was buying my Zeiss 50 ZM as there was nothing used2 days ago than these popped up two sellers and the price seemed way to cheap. Red Flag

I than looked up another lens and saw the same two sellers. Double red flag . Than I looked at one it was a coffee shop. Needless to say I did not order from them. I actually ordered from Samys in California so I can get the lens Monday as Friday's B&H and Adorama close early so they would not ship till Monday. Mine will be here Monday going through Samys. Same price and I downloaded a 125 dollar rebate form

They have a silver one in stock. I may have grabbed the last black one. But they would probably ship today if you need it fast. Not doubt B&H and Adorama won't ship till Monday they are closed on Saturdays.

That's for the ZM 50 1.5

Checking for the ZM 35

Ok, crazy notion. I have shot with Zeiss a bit (C/Y and ZE--thanks Fredmiranda.com for full putting the hook in me but never ZM because before TAP, I just felt like the versatility of the small FE, autofocusing primes was more practical to me, which also kept me away from the 35 and 50 Loxia which seemto be the compact 35 and 50 combo to get some of that stronger Zeiss rendering that is lacking in the FE 35 2.8 and 55 1.8.

Enter TAP. An inexpensive opportunity to try rolling with autofocus and an Leica R 50 Summicron E55 presents itself, and wow, Leica people, I get the attachment to the look, just not the shooting with a rangefinder in the 21st century-- especially on my working man's budget. Just like I get (from some more diverse experience) the Zeiss look.

Now, I'm pretty ready to pull the trigger on the ZM 35 1.4 and ready to feel pretty set when it comes to 35 for quite some time (tries to settle the crowd laughing sarcastically at me), but I just have this question for some of you now. Forget that the ZM is faster. F2 is fast enough for me. Late model 35 R Summicron vs ZM 35 1.4. Does this come down to "you're either a Lieca guy or a Ziss guy"? Or is it far more simple in the fact that the ZM is just an out of this world optic with so few peers that really considering anything else is just crazy because the quality of the ZM images is just a cut above.

the zm 35/1.4 is much better than R 35 cron on paper. if you really like the look of the Leica I can easily see preferring it, but on raw performance the zm 35/1.4 kills it. on a Leica the new zm kills everything except the new canon L, which it is roughly comparable to. on a Sony it just falls behind some great lenses in the corners at large aperture (not the R cron which has weird field curvature).

I've used both the R35 Cron and the ZM 35 Dist, and while both stellar in each regards, the ZM, as Derek says above, absolutely blows the R away. both up close performance and infinity. At f2.8, the ZM is so sharp it could cut glass
That's not to say the R is a bad lens. It's not, but the R never really sharpens up in the corners til f11, and even then, it leaves a little to be desired. but it has a great look up close and wide open.

I sold my R 35mm Summicron to help to pay for my 35mm f1.4ZM Distagon lens. But, I was never happy with the corner performance of my R Summicron that I owned for about 30 years on film. Also, I use my 35mm f1.4 ZM on my A7rM V3, not on my stock A7r. But, I do not own an A7rII.

Thanks everyone. Nature, 30 years is a long time to spend with a lens, and if you don't miss the Summicron signature in 35, that says a lot. Shooting on a modded A7R, do I assume you still get a Leica fix somewhere else?

Is the lens really in the position to replace the look and feel of the RX1 f2 lens with the A7RII? This must mean something...

Hi Jack,

I had stopped using my R 35mm Summicron for a very long time because of the unsharp corners for my landscape work. I still have 15 other R lenses of which I use about 8 or so frequently and I also have 3 Leica M lenses: the WATE, Leica M 24mm f3.8 ASph, and Leica M 90mm f2.5 Summarit. At this point I use all of my M wide angle lenses on my A7rM V3 and my M 90mm Summarit and my R enses on either body as well.

Summicron never meant to be a landscape lens. I love its bokeh and focus transition the best of most if not all 35mm Lens I ever used that include zm35.

For reportage or environnent portrait, FC is never be a problem, it push out of focus 1/3 frame subject way to create extra blur make rendering special. At f2, I wouldn't say I need anything sharper than that center wise. It resolve all pix of D810 in center WO.

Having said that, I use it with 6D for landscape and focus at corner at f11, it is not bad. no smear at all.

So, it is really depend on what will you shooting most for 35mm and which system you plan to use for. For me, I use it mostly on DSLR and document family life, and I know I will prefer its output than ZM35 with Leica M. I sold it and bought it back and will never sell it.

Absolutely not. The 35/2 Sonnar of the RX1...

1) is quite a bit wider than the 35/1.4 ZM, so gives deeper DOF.
2) has a MUCH smoother rendering. I'm not talking about "all bokeh"-closeup shots, but shots were the background is a littlebit more in focus. The ZM gives a harsh double-edged bokeh, especially at the edges. The 35/2 Sonnar has just stellar performance in this regard.

Which rendering someone prefers is highly personal, they are complete opposites.

Do you guys in the US have to pay import duty?
Because you can get it new from some of the Austrian camera stores like Leica by Boris or Leica Store (either direct or via Ebay) for about this. They are pretty reliable in my experience.

I had to pay about $25 in import duty when I bought my ZM 35/1.4

Leica Cron-R 35 was a special purpose lens, not everyone's all-in-one solution
If you're interested in it, find first what it was designed for and love it or hate it

Assuming one has it for a reportage type of usage and can manage to shoot well at f/2-2.8 or even f/4 AND appreciate what the lens was for, the answer is in using it as designed

I do agree with zhangyue on Cron-35 virtues, but I do not share his view on ZM 35D
Simply we both, as many others, share or do not always share opinions on shooting needs at time.

I come from Cron-R 35, Zeiss ZF 2/35, ZM 35 Biogon camp, just like Michael, but I found all I need, in my stage of life and shooting needs, in ZM35D. I do miss my Cron-R 35, but I found my way around it...
