Guy, why are you doing this to me Here I thought I was satisfied with my new Leica R 28/2.8 And now you show up with this. My bank account doesn't like you! Lol
This is my favourite landscape lens when I am shooting F8 or higher.
I don't use 35mm much at f1.4-f4 in general as I am more comfortable with 50mm for that type of shots.
Is this vignetting normal, or is there some interaction with a filter or adapter going on? To my eyes, the strength and abruptness of the vignetting at f/5.6 is kind of surprising.

The vignetting studio tests I have seen of this lens on a Leica M (such as Sean Reids) do not show this amount of vignetting at F5.6. This also would be the result of the interaction between the thicker Sony sensor cover glass and this lens.

Totally could be the sensor stack. Reminds me of a hood or baffle that's blocking light, not that something else couldn't give the same look.

I think the Leica R 28/2.8 and ZM 35/1.4 can co-exist in peace.
Thanks for the tests Guy. They echo my infinity tests as well. After f/6.3, this lens can be a great for landscapes. It beats the Loxia 35/2 even though the Loxia is optimized for the thicker glass cover.
On top of that, we can now AF this thing!
I kind of like it. Of course you can fix it easy too

Glad to hear you're happy, Guy. What adapter are you using? The closer focus vignetting is a bit strong stopped down. You should check and see if the new adapter improves that at all.
These are with a cheap Fotosy adapter . I have the TechArt Pro now and that something I will check in the morning. Adapter could possibly be adding to it
