Apologize if it has been mentioned earlier in this thread. Battery drain: I'm experiencing it. Is the only solution as of now to remove and insert battery after use?

Yep. If you want to store your camera with the TAP connected, turning off the camera then removing the battery and reinserting it seems to stop the battery drainage (it's worked for me, anyway). Hopefully they'll fix this issue with a firmware update.

Hi fellow photographers,
FM follower for years, always top notch contributors, thanks for all clever suggestions and great pictures.

Currently I am wondering how viable is to use TAP+Canon EOS mount+adapter for : OM,M42,C/Y,PK mount etc. as I used to shoot with Canon EOS Hawk's helicoid .
I know,I know, more adapters stacked ,more problems, but I shall see (still awaiting the Leica--> canon EOS adapter...

plus there is the new topic for TAP fans to post pictures:

Thanks. Yes, hopefully this will be fixed soon. It's my only con to an otherwise brilliant device.

Fred how come you sold the 90/2 AA ? I thought that was going to replace the lenses mentioned below

I did some tests with the 90/2 AA today. First let me say that I've never seen a decentered Leica lens. Granted, I've only tested around 5 or 6 lenses in total but they were all perfectly centered. It's nice to have that piece of mind when purchasing it used.

So, how does it perform?...I will be direct and state that it beats my ZM 85/4 at infinity and that is very hard to do. There is more micro detail with the Leica center/mid-field and edges. It's noticeable at 1:1. That is true at f/4 and f/5.6 and it makes

This may have been said already, but has anyone tried the Techart with Minolta MC-MD adapters?

A few reasons. As good as the 90AA is, the Summarit is just as good at close distances (portrait, street) and it's smaller/lighter which was my main goal when getting a compact 90mm. I also have the 85/1.4GM as a dedicated portrait lens and for landscapes I'm mainly using the Vario-Sonnar 100-300mm which is much more versatile to me.
So, the lens is indeed superb but it was a little overkill for me and I'm slimming down for a possible Fuiji MF kit.

Learned something new (to me at least) about the TAP. You can put the f/stop set on the lens in the EXIF (2.0 - 8.0) in addition to the focal length AND maintain the correct exposure. You do this by using exposure compensation. Set the aperture on the camera the same as on the lens, then compensate accordingly by dial or menu:
f/2.0 = 0, f/2.8 = -1, f/4.0 = -2, f/5.6 = -3, and f/8.0 = - 4 . F/8.0 has to be done in the menu while the first three can be done on the top dial or the menu. You can also interpolate. F/11 @ -5 exposes correctly and puts the aperture in the EXIF but it resets the EXIF focal length to 15mm unless you remap it via the Android app.

If you are new to TAP, note the difference between setting the f/stop set on the lens and setting it on the camera.

ADDED: If you change the exposure compensation by the menu, it resets to 0 when the camera is turned off.

That's great! I sure wish we didn't have to learn these things through trial and error or reading through 40 - 50 pages of a thread on the topic.

A great and cheap lens to use with the TAP is the Rokinon/Bower etc. 85 f/1.4. It is sharp and has great bokeh but the drawback has been manual focus. No more thanks to the TAP!

As you already stated, more adapters, more weight and problems.

I guess for someone who already invested in EF-xx mount adapters it might make some sense. But given how you could get adapters that work with TAP for relatively cheap price, I don't see much sense to be stacking on adapters especially if you are mounting heavy lenses.

Okay back many pages a L bracket was recommended which I bought for 20 dollars on eBay from China. Now my Sunway I had to grind off some of the front to get the TAP even on the camera. This bracket I do not have to do that and I added a few rubber pads between L bracket and bottom of camera to force the L bracket to go a little lower to clear my ball head quick release. No no grinding no additional plate parts for tripod. I'll try and find the link again but it is here on this thread.

I read in this threat that it would not work except for the leicaist brand. I don't know why, I am thinking about buying one (K&F brand) myself.
