I am not sure where I read how I did it the first time, but I cannot seem to get the Android app to connect to my adapter now that I've added some lenses to the app. I now want to change the f/22 from 35/2 to 35/1.2 and I did it in the app but I cannot get the app/phone to find the adapter like I did 2 weeks ago. The documentation doesn't seem to address this and I don't see it on their website in the FAQs, etc. I suspect I found it somewhere in the bazillion pages of this discussion....Show more →
It took me a while yesterday to get the Android app to connect to the Techart PRO but I finally figured it out. I've just tried again and had no difficulty connecting. Here's what I did:
1) Ensure that both the phone and camera batteries are fully charged.
2) Set the aperture on the camera body to F90 and take a picture.
3) Turn the camera off.
4) On the phone, go to Settings and in Display preferences, set it to sleep after 10 (or 30) minutes of activity (so the display doesn't turn off during the update).
5) Still in Settings, open the Bluetooth preferences. The LM-EA7 (i.e. the Techart PRO) should be listed as an available device.
6) Launch the LM-EA7-CONFIG app.
7) The configuration app opens with the scrollable list of apertures, enabling you to change the focal length, parking behavior, and focus mode for up to ten lenses.
8) When the configuration info has been updated, turn the camera back on and set the aperture on the camera body back to F2.
9) Test that it has worked by setting the aperture on the camera body to invoke a different focal length then take a picture.
10) Set the aperture on the camera body back to F2, take another picture, and check the EXIF data.
11) Reset the phone's Display settings if necessary.
