I don't know but you can use small, light, top end glass with AF and close focusing. I'm not saying I would do it but it's working so well that you could.

True. I like diversity in lenses and would not want to part with some of my gems.
For example my FE 90/2.8 OSS G seems stellar to my eyes with Eye-AF.
Equally attractive, but quite different, my Summilux-R 80/1.4 shines with the TechArt Pro adapter.

I have been thinking the same thing.

That way I can have a 3 lens setup ready to go.

Canon FD 17mm F4 on the LMEA7.
Tamron 24-135 on the MB4.
A fast Rokinon 24mm F1.4, Nikon 35mm F1.4 or a Sears Tomioka 55mm F1.4 on a second LMEA7. Also a backup.

At least that is what I am thinking.

A semi quick story---

1964, Williamstown Massachusetts: "Vroom, you're a weird combination of linear and creative; me and Tito are going to run the yearbook this year, we need somebody to be photographer. The school hired some guy from New York City to come up here and show you how to take pictures. He's going to bring some snotty camera called a Nikon F and a 50 mm 1.4 lens. If you don't screw it all up you can keep the camera at the end of the year.
1967, Dallas Texas--- Guy in a park to me with a used Nikon F around my neck: Man, this is a fucked-up city. I got a "happening" tonight at The Satori House; and I need to get these 6 rolls of Ektachrome processed by 7 tonight. How could a city this size not have any labs open on Saturday? You know any I don't? Me: " i've only been doing it for a few days but I got a little E6 line in my kitchen. If you're in a real bind I'll do them for you." Me later that night: "Man, I am in awe of the intricate relationships between and among those three different slide-projector-sequences with that oil-water-overlay stuff. Especially the way you interwove all those different pictures of Abraham Lincoln." The guy: "what intricate relationships? You were so fucking late with the slides I barely had enough time to get them randomly into the trays before I did my Doobie and started!"
1968 or 69, Cambridge Massachusetts: "Professor White, I don't actually go to MIT; I'm working over near Harvard and I wonder if I could just sit in a couple of your classes if I were really really polite and never bothered you? "You can listen for free, but only 'real' students get to ask questions or talk. And if anyone else asks to do this, I'm kicking you all out." "Yes, sir. Thank you."

Fade to dark grey: Long gap, where I learned to edit commercial and fashion photographs, but didn't take many, myself.

Today, 9/8/16 in Dallas, Texas--- Bring lights all the way back up: Turns out there is no more film, or chemical-analog zone system, but I have obliquely heard a few folks I never met or even conversed with discuss some bizarre device made somewhere in China maybe can autofocus my old, very old, Nikkor 50mm 1.4 on a Sony. Turns out you can read that shit, think about it, then type a little into a very advanced teletype machine, and somehow today the effing Chinese device appears in my mailbox. Without knowing anything about anything, really, it has shown up. There is not enough Adderall in the world to keep me on task with my scheduled life for today. Thanks, among many others, to Charley at Williams, the guy from NYC, the stoner in the park in Dallas, Minor White at MIT, and FM, GM, and K-H here, for their largely-unintended contributions to the delivery of this package today. God bless ocd!

Are there any rumors of a similar adapter to be made for MFT?

It's a Photokinia year you never know. If anybody I would expect Metabones as they seem pretty dedicated to Sony cameras.

Has anyone tried the Leica 135mm F4 Tele-Elmar on this thingy?. I thought I was going to get the Zeiss ZM 85mm but that FL is too close to my Canon 24-70 L II and the Sony G 90mm. Thanks.

PS. If it has been noted before, my apologies; I missed it: the Techart in-between adapters (Minolta, Nikon, FD, etc) say "Leicaist" on them.

You don't have to buy all expensive adapters.
All M42 cheap adapters I have tried fit along with a few others.
Some others fit.
I think most of the cheap Nikon adapters fit.
Contax CY also fit.
One of the problem adapters is the Canon FD to LM. Those I bought Leicaist directly from ebay for about $45 each.

I ground down the bottom edge of a cheap EF > LM adapter since I only needed one.
Same with Konica AR.

A real PIA to do but it works.

I just got this from Kevin at TechArt:

The main update for V4 is the focusing performance as well as reducing the

the battery to reboot)

Can you try using this updated app again? We have found that the previous
beta app may not work with some android phones..

______________

BTW: The above link is for the LM-EA7 'Configuration' app, where we should able to change pre-programmed aperture settings. The previous version I posted here was not working with my Android's device.

Thanks so much for pursuing this, Fred - I just downloaded the new version onto my Moto-G android, altered the data for one of the slots, and successfully wrote it to my adaptor. I'll now go through and set my lenses into the slots in sequence, including two with focal lengths of 180 and 300. I see this as a big gain as it then means that the FL not only gets written into the exif, but also auto-feeds into the IBIS, all without having to scroll miles up through the aperture range.

With the old FW leave your camera on AF-C and set one custom button to AF lock.

I have one custom button that is the lens length for IBIS so I can quickly change that.

Lenses up to about 50-60mm, just set the lens on infinity.

Lenses from 60-maybe 100mm, you might be able to set them just off infinity most of the time.

Above that and you have to be in a zone of focus that is within the adapters ability to AF. Longer the lens the more precise the manual focus needs to be.

Above 50-60mm its more of a focus assist,

Thanks for the reply.
I currently have these in my lineup:
- Voigtlander 15mm verIII M-mount
- Voigtlander 35mm VerI F1.2
- Voigtlander 50mm f1.5

I'm assuming we should be shooting at A Mode. Then select the IBIS for the lens. We should set the IBIS either through the camera or use the f-stop to set the IBIS through the techart adapter. Then after setting all that, we should go to f/2 because that's the only way for the adapter to read the metering correct?

Do you have ISO set to AUTO? I realized that if I have ISO at 50/100 or something low, the camera automatically up the shutter speed for longer exposure. The only way to prevent this is to have ISO on Auto.

Yes Aperture priority, usually.

I have the wheel set up for IBIS so the top of the wheel is down in FL, bottom of the wheel is up in FL.

Yes set the camera on F2. I have not gotten into setting lens focal lengths.

Usually leave my camera on ISO auto, but not for long exposure. Usually I set it at ISO 100 for that.

Received my Techart Leicaist adapters today.

Their C/Y-LM mount is virtually identical to the Fotodiox C/Y-LM adapter I picked up, for half the cost.

FYI and YMMV.

I just put it in manual mode, set to F2 on the camera and then everything else works as it should.

Generally these cheap adapters will fit but you need to look at them in profile on ebay and make sure the sides are sloped. If squared off to much they might not fit.

These cheap adapters usually fit.
LR-LM, PK-LM, OM-LM, M42-LM, C/Y-LM and Nikon-LM.

These always need to ground down or milled unless they change their design, or just buy the Leisaist adapters. This is a parrtial list from Thomas Lee. Credit due. He helped me tremendously.

N/G-LM : this type of Nikon to LM adapter have a locking ring that interfere with LM-EA7.

FD – LM : The FD-LM are all have a locking ring on the adapter that interefere with the LM-EA7

CRX-LM : Contarex to LM

EOS-LM:

Perfect. I'm glad the configuration app finally works! I will try it tonight. I really want to remove f/11 for 15mm and 135mm to retain AF (instead of switching to MF)
