F1.4 Bokeh! Sony FE 50 F1.4 @ 1.4 AF (Top). Sigma Art 50 F1.4 Amount @ 1.4 MF with La-ea3 adapter (Bottom). SOOC raw processed for jpeg upload tp FM.com via LR6. Both handheld. I think I turned off EFC. Not sure if changing sunlight/clouds or T-Stop resulted in different shutter speeds as both images were fired in Aperture mode. Interesting differences in color between the two lenses. Note: There is a light pole along the right edge of the FE 50 F1.4 image that I didn't crop out.
Bokeh on the Sigma looks more pleasing to me. I wouldn't rule it out yet given the huge price difference.

I was wondering if anyone else was going to notice ! Thank you for looking and commenting. I agree with you. The ART is IMO one of the great modern 50's and very comparable in size to the FE 50, even with the adapter. My ART lens is Amount and am using with the La-ea3 adapter so MF on the A7rII.
The main differences I am seeing so far comparing the two:
FE = sharper at 1.4, more microcontrast, cooler colors
ART = sharper at F8, warmer colors, smoother bokeh wide-open.
* I am pretty sure I turned off EFCS for this comparison, but will do it again just to make sure.

shot the 35/1.4 all day but missed the 50/1.4 so had to take her out tonight:
here's 2 shots wide open, no adjustments, the second was candlelight at ISO 800
Great examples of what the lens can do, but your second photo here is particularly lovely. Lighting and expression trump cameras and lenses every time, but you were fortunate to have also had the best of equipment to capture this with.
My own boys are now both teenagers, and sadly refuse to cooperate for portraits any longer, but I am still their match when it comes to candids, muahahaha... :-)
My 50mm 1.4 was supposed to come yesterday. Fedex delivered to the wrong street and the person who signed for it does not even work at my place of employment-- so likely Fedex has the spelling of the signee wrong. Now they are having trouble finding the package .. Ugh..
So really enjoying this lens so far. Went to a buddies house last night, and we were drinking scotch and popping of shots with our gear!

A seriously incredible bottle!
And another incredible bottle. My buddy is a serious scotch connoisseur
Here is the review from Korean site slrclub. They are always very thourough and posting many pictures. Also, if you use Firefox with Google S3 translator add-on, it will translate it for you. Here is the link, enjoy it: http://www.slrclub.com/bbs/vx2.php?id=slr_review&no=529
Here are a few more images with the 50. I'm really liking this lens a lot. Size wise it's huge! But after looking at my images, I have no problem using it!

I can't tell for sure since they are resized images but for the f/1.4 samples, they seem to have high shutter speeds with EFCS set to 'on'. That makes a noticeable different in rendering as bokeh gets a little rougher.
Great tests guys! Thanks a lot. I have FE 55 but thinking of a switch It looks that this lens will be good in pano astrophotography too. IŽd like to ask if someone have Summilux-M 50/1.4 ASPH to make some short bokeh/sharpness comparison with FE 50/1.4. I think the Lux will have more character for close portraits but more contrasty OOF areas.
Thanks just enough to see background but not read any of it. It's hard to get too thin of shots like this because that's really not the look the client wants they want a more natural look at it. So it's hard to shoot at 2.8 let's say . I need DOF on him what's in front of him but tone down the background some.
Your subject really stands out! Kinda thought the suit (literally), not the subject, might show Moire. Great shot.
I used to be a suit! My daughter is getting married this Fall, might be (hopefully) it will be the last suit/Tux I ever wear! MIB Quote! Unless we have to attend more funerals.
My wife may put one on me post-mortem... Maybe should clarify my will...No suits! For anyone!
Here's a quick grab, wide open @1/8000th...I think this lens is almost as well corrected as my Summilux 50 ASPH was. VEry hard for a lens to shoot WO and near infinity!
