Ho Ho Ho, didn't you use a D3s not a D750? How did you like your trial with the D5?
This is my second shooters D750 (I borrowed it for a church event where I'll need a lot of pixels)
D5? I had two D5's... One from BH and one from NPS... Verdict? Both went back where they belong.
I'm not spending that kind of money for an upgrade. However, I'm beginning to like the D750... Too bad it's not a pro body
You have to consider 1. this lens is not cheap, not everyone who'd like to have one will buy it and 2. it has a really unique "look" to the photos that makes it a specialty lens IMHO.
Some of us are waiting for a price drop, that's all. Unlike the 58, this Nikkor has me drooling. I may succumb to the 80-400G first, but would prefer the 105E.

Actually, some of us prefer the 58G more than the 105E. Here's a confession made Here
Personally, I use the 58G, 35G and then 105E in that order.

Do you really think a price drop is going to happen? Here in Europe, a (new) general price increase is foreseen as of February 2017. Given that the 105E is still at its initial price level, I'm really wondering what would be the best time to buy. The gradual price drop of the 105E, being a new(-ish) product, might be offset by the general price increase.
