Is anyone using the nikon 105e on a crop sensor camera?
Yup works a treat on my D7100 though I use it more on FX.
Thoughts wandering as I was doing cardio at the gym, I was thinking I could use the 105 on crop instead of my 200 on FX at next years Songkran (Thai water festival to mark the New Year). Jury is still out. I love the pop I get on the 200 images versus 70-200 I shot this past year, I think the 105 would do similarly well but I am not sure if I want such an extreme test of its weather sealing...
Thanks for the reply's! So I know using it on my dx camera it will effectively make it more a 150mm lens.. close to 200 😁 although the dof will not be as shallow.. Sorry I'm still very new and learning xx

Hey Lance.
Absolutely fantastic shots of this Kestrel with the "mini-Chubby".
It is probably quite swift with the D500 and it renders smoothly as I can see.
I guess you have been quite close though, since your pictures are just a slight crop
as you wrote.
So when the situation is there in nature and things are close enough this lense seems to be
a gorgeous portrait-lens for birds in flight.

Thank you very much for your kind comment, Andreas. Much appreciated.
The first two, I was quite close, the last one he was doing a fly past just below me on the cliff, maybe 15mts away.
Lance, superb shots of the Kestral !!! Amazing captures
I have been watching this thread and could not wait any longer to have this lens in my bag.
The lens arrived this afternoon, and I am only now appreciating how extraordinary this lens is
Some quick shots around the house before the sun went down.
