More pics from the weekend shooters please :-)
Mine should arrive today. But I'm 98% certain I won't receive it because of the stupid signature requirement.
Most normal people have a 8-5 job, I'm not gonna leave work just to sign for the lens. I'm pissed!! I'll have to drive to a UPS office tomorrow which is in another city and pick it up from there.

I'm surprised that you did not have it shipped to your place of work. To your job site, you could have easily had it shipped there and sign for it then. But I guess I don't really know what your work environment is like and if that's a good idea or not. But it is a thought. Hopefully, he will get it today because I am curious to see what you can do with it.

Images aren't that great or important for that matter lol

Over here, UPS have a number of pickup locations where you can choose to have any packages redirected to, all managed from the UPS Mobile App.

I think I feel the same way. I love looking at the front element or the business end of some of this really fast glass and all of its light gathering power. Can't wait to try my 105 on the Milky Way or other areas of the night sky. I really like the way the 105 blurs the background on this photo.
I broke down and ordered one. I knew I should've stayed out of this thread. lol I should have it Thursday. I'm shooting a football game Friday night, I might try it for candids on the field during warm ups and on the sidelines during the game. I think the candids will be a good test of AF speed and accuracy.
What I discovered was just how much of an evolutionary change the Nikon 105mm f/1.4E is compared to the Nikon 105mm f/2D DC. The newer version lens was sharper - much sharper.
Thanks for sharing I agree with the majority of the comments though. I don't think the 105 DC is that bad. Even though I don't own one, I've seen how it performs. IMHO it's either he missed focus or he has a really bad copy.
The 1.4 will be definitely sharper, but the 105 shouldn't be this bad.
Still curious on MFD sharpness at f/2. For any macro work, which I occassionally do, if this thing can compete with the Zeiss 100MP f/2 I'm 100% in. The Zeiss wide open is pretty darn sharp though, and by f/4 it's razor sharp.
Maybe I should just rent it once available and decide then . Darn GAS!
