I gotta stay out of this thread lol.
Still curious on MFD sharpness at f/2. For any macro work, which I occassionally do, if this thing can compete with the Zeiss 100MP f/2 I'm 100% in. The Zeiss wide open is pretty darn sharp though, and by f/4 it's razor sharp.
Maybe I should just rent it once available and decide then . Darn GAS!
Meanwhile in Canada, I'm still waiting for my local store to get their first shipment. Could someone post a full body shot of a Canadian wearing mukluks with a polar bear in the background to show the bokeh...eh?
I got mine yesterday. Loving it so far. The difference between 85 and 105 is more noticeable than I expected it would be (which I'm happy about). Makes me wonder if this is actually a better length for portrait work (in terms of working distances) than a 135 that I was hoping for. The bokeh is superb. Its a background destroyer for sure. Heavier than I expected. Feels like it's made of mercury or something. It's short and stubby, but it's got girth!

Nice shots-many don't get along with the 135L because it's just a tad too long. I truly think this lens answers the void for a compact telephoto that obliterates backgrounds.
