Just received this lens along with the 28 1.4, 35 1.4 and 58 1.4 on a z8. These will be my autofocus lenses. They're all rather large with the adapter, but love the rendering. First quick snap from the back yard.
Still my favorite lens, I like it best wide open. Had to shoot my daughters homecoming photos, this was one to check exposure before the group arrived and given it was all group shots this is the only one I shot at f1.4. Its great stopped down but its really special wide open.
I love the way this lens draws. Not quite as sharp as the latest telephoto primes for mirroless lenses, but good enough. But man do the images look great.
@JMan but that isn’t a bad thing!! If I had the funds for the Z9, I would be using the G 28/58/105 as MY taste is we are chasing these perfect images for portraits but super sharp also means super showing skin defects. I sorta like the less than perfect. I’ll save the razor sharp for landscape/automotive shoots.

Absolutely correct. I have the 28/58/105 all with their own adapters on a Z7II and am totally satisfied with the looks I get. Yes once in a while I use Topaz to sharpen the 58 but the SOOC for the 105 wide open is just fine. I see the 135 1.8 and 85 1.2 and the 50 1.2 and am impressed by their optical perfection but have no interest in those lenses which is just fine with me. A bit of overkill, or maybe just a bit loud for human subjects in my view. The Z7II just extracts every ounce of beuty out of the 28/58/105 lenses. The adapters are not a burden to get the results i desire with these lenses.
