If they had a DF2 with AF Tune capabilities, and two cards, I would jump in a heartbeat.
But this freaking world is moving up into stupid mirrorless so bleh meh blah.... I absolutely dislike mirrorless.

Definitely takes some getting used to...that’s for sure. Good thing DSLRs are still being made lol

I love mirrorless... and will never go back to shooting a DSLR.

Surprised you feel this way...
I absolutely love rangefinders tho. The closest thing to a mirrorless
I guess what I meant to say is... I really dislike EVF. I love mirrorless but it has to be a Leica

The EVF on the SL, Q and CL are all great. I don’t miss the OVF at all.
I found a nice used 105E and I started to test it. Sure the IQ is amazing and the rendering is much different from my 35/58 1.4 duo but I'm not sure to keep it since the 58 is still my favourite portrait lens. Maybe a 70-200E (with TC for occasional wildlife) would give me the compression look when needed

No, no, no the 105E is just awesome Seriously the 70-200E is superb for portraits and it has excellent dynamic AF. The 85/1.4G is also excellent the often forgotten cousin. It is half the size/weight of other 85/1.4 and it is easy find excellent used copies.

more versatile and more compression vs this special look ...

You like the 58 more than the 105? I thought rendering was similar but the 105 was sharper and more compression.

Yes, I do. I prefer the focal length and the rendering is unique, skin tones are incredible. The 105 is sharper but has less fairy dust
Nikon needs to hire you as their 105 F/1.4 lens embassador! I haven't made it through all your posts, but..the last 10 series...great work with the lens. Very nice lighting and compositions....strong images.

Well done sir...well done!
Hatch
haha thanks !
I don't know if it's even possible for them to be interested in my work, but their lenses are magical in general, that's why I still use them even if I shoot with a Sony body.
I wanted to try to some stuff with fall grasses, and some different focal lengths, old friends of mine wanted to get some fall pictures of their daughter. Win win. Got to play with a bunch of different focal lengths with no complaints, at the end of the day the 105 is just pure magic and so easy to get great captures with you feel like your cheating.
@Vcook, great work as usual! Among the great pictures in this topic, your work really contributed to my decision to buy this lens hoping to make such great pictures of my daughter.
