esanchez, look back through the thread... there's a link to a thread here on FM where TJ has archived the posts into PDF files you can download (thanks, btw, TJ!)
Time for my cliche response to the thread... this thread is great. Wonderful learning tool. I want to set up something in the next couple years myself... always thought space was the reason I couldn't until I saw some examples of well-used space in this thread.
If only pool tables were more mobile... my bonus room upstairs would be a great size for a studio setup if not for the pool table and bar.
First of all I want to say this is a great thread, very informative!
Next month, the college I attend will host a prom/dance, and they asked me if I could take some portraits. I've got about $100 to spend on rental equipment. The idea is that the couples can get their pictures taken against a nice background with some good lighting and order a print afterwards.
I'm planning on going with a red backdrop, but I'm not quite sure how to light this, seeing I've never done something like this before. Would two studio flashes be enough (main and fill)? Should I go with umbrellas or softboxes? Do I need a seperate light for the backdrop? Do I need a hairlight?
Comments from people who've used a similar setup before are very much appreciated
I have the pool tale probelm myself. I am thinking that I could put a background behind it, and then use the pool table as a prop, or as a table for a model to lay on. Guess I would need to put plwyod on the top of the table to make it lay right,
I might end of regretting this (bandwidth wise) but I have created a PDF of pretty much all the posts on this thread up to today. Please be kind to the bandwidth and only download it once if you would like it and I welcome anyone who wants to mirror the file.
Please just right click (Apple/Mac = Ctrl + click) on the link and choose Save Target As (Macs - Download linked file). It is a 29 MB file so you won't want to just open it in your browser.
