Just finished moving into the new studio space. It's about 90 per cent set up. There's a separate prop/meeting room, but it's still filled with boxes and not yet set up, so no pics of it.
I share it with another photographer, and he named his original space "Big Sky Studio One" years ago, and has just kept the name. FIgured it was better to keep a single name than use a new one for me, hence the 'Big Sky' branding...
Hi! I wonder what is the smallest size of the home studio allowing to take pictures of the whole person. I'm thinking of making one. I went through this post and saw some really spectacular stuff Do you think that around 6 square meters will be ok? I have one empty wall so that I can hang the background.

John Power, i don't know which boom you are referring to. but here goes the boom that is holding the snoot & norman 2400 head hair light set up is a norman boom connected to a heavy duty norman light stand with manfrotto super clamp and D200B grep. the other setup is a majestic tripod with a chicago gear head w 6x7 plate and custom designed articulate that has interchangable manfrotto 3265/322RC2 ballhead pistol grips to mount camera. this is a macro super macro setup mainly for studio work. the setup occasionally does get used outdoors but due to the weight/mass (20+lbs.) that is rare. hope this is the correct answer. ...Show more →

My husband (p150) would pull me in here every so often to show me one of the studios posted on here. Ours has been an old building restoration for a year... and we just had our ribbon cutting this week (even though we've been working here since January). I usually post on the wedding forum, but remembered this thread and thought I would add our space on here, too.
Follow me to the side of the building for a closer look at the window that showcases what we offer...
This doesn't actually allow you to view through it into the studio... it's been walled up on the inside.
I love my chandelier... and see my awesome window display? It's two-sided... of course, one of the
images is missing because it hasn't actually arrived here yet. But it'll get here tomorrow! Didn't want you to wait.
Using it less and less since last year for actual photography. Mainly a client meeting place and as a back up for engagement/pre-wedding shoots when the weather turns bad.
How many here uses their garage as studio?
