crutch1948,

I've been shopping around for light stands. What stands are you using in that last image?

Thanks

I have been using rental studios a great deal. I have some video that shows working in two of those if you want to take a look. Go to my website and click on my blog. You will see videos shot around my photos shoots with models Ava Cowan and Maria Rogers.

http://SecondFocus.com

They were fun shoots.

ilsitren,

Can you describe the light next to the ringflash and the strobe to your right when you were shooting model Maria Rogers.

To the right is a 4 bank 4 ft Kino Flo which is a continuous fluorescent light system. It was there just for the video shoot and was completely overpowered by the strobes on the still shoots. However Kino Flo can also be used in still shooting.

You have lot's of room for wider paper. You also have plenty of room to move the models further forward to create more separation from the background.

Nice spot with high ceiling. I wish I had a space this nice for my shoots.

Hi oz_ranger,

That is quite a nice home setup. Would you mind sharing any of the results using that setup?

Again, very nice.

Sincerely,
Randal

Hi Randal,

Thanks for the encouraging comments. Here is the links to a gallery with all the experimental shots of this setup (lots to learn for me!):

PS: i've left the shadows in some of them on purpose however some came out nice without the annoying shadows.

cheers,

looks nice even though you are still finishing it.

One thing which I did notice, and no disrespect to any british builders, by the looks of it you guys in the US can teach us here a few things about finishing and site cleanliness. A lot of building work going on in these pictures, but what attracted my attention was how little mess there is, how neatly materials are put to the sides. Do you make them sweep the floor every evening before they go home?
