Now that is a studio. The rent must be outrageous.

What about wedding studio office? Do they count?

http://www.tuannguyenphoto.net/images/072907/intermediate.jpg

I replaced the office lighting with spot lights and doing more lighting upgrade to change the mood. It's coming together and I will take more pics in a week or so. I am hoping it will all be done by then.

Wayyyyy back in the beginning of this thread, John said: "The Plexiglas was purchased froma local plastics distributor. I buy it in sheets that are 6' x 8' x 1/4". You'll have to check your local Yellow Pages for a distributor near you. Mine was able to deliver the the sheets for $35. "

Huh? $35 for a 8'x10' plexi? Where?

There are large distributers such as Midland Plastics. Again, the yellow pages or google is your friend. However, I have never seen a sheet for that price. Heck, a 4 x 8 sheet of laminate is well over a hundred bucks.

$35.00 was probably for the cost of delivery.

p.110 #11 · Re: Show us YOUR Studio

I have just acquired the old heat & air space next door to my office. I own the building and will try to put together my studio from scratch. Its 29 ' x 24' and has 8' ceiling. I would like 12' ceilings, but it's out of the question for now, with my budget.I will have a door entrance from my office, in addition to an outside entrance. Not much room for a reception area. We have today started getting rid of everything including the interior walls, bathroom, light fixtures, etc. Hope to start putting up sheetrock tomorrow. I will post updates. Any suggestions are more than welcome. I have not purchased any equipment for lighting, but I'm thinking Alien Bees....I have all Canon cameras and lenses. What do you think ?

crutch,

Congrats.

Looks like you've got a drop down ceiling there. Maybe you could get more headroom by removing it.

Good luck.

It's a wood ceiling and the ceiling joists are right there. It is not a drop down, darn it. I would be a major project to raise the roof. Believe me, I have considered it all. ...Thanks.

I think you are right as I just checked on a 1/2" sheet for $200.

If all goes well, I'll be closing on this next Tuesday. It was once a corner market. Interior will need some work, pics to follow.

Thats a cute little place, what are the dimensions? It looks rather small, but I don't know how you work. Cool location for sure!

Not huge, but has a full basement. It's wedge shaped, we're loking at the tip. Farthest side is about 40' across. Sort of like my version of the Flatiron Building
