Great picture of the bike. What size softbox's are you using and how many w/s monolights are you using in your set-up. I need to shoot a bike lay-out and want to make sure that I have the right equipement.
The bike owner is a hottie, like to some pictures of her with the bike.
Ok. So this is the first chance I've had to post something in this thread. It's my living room that became a studio. This is me just messing with my new 15mm.
Thanks Jerry. The light and soft box are both alien bees. The over head soft box is 30" x 60" and the light is their 800 which they advertise as true w/s as 320 but they also have something that says it effective w/s is 800. Not sure what the heck the difference is between the 2 but it worked well for me. I was on about 1/3 the power for this shot.
Brent, you have some great variety of sun exposure there. You get both sunrise AND sunset light, and indirect light. Sweet! And I love the warm and classical texture of your floors and ceilings too. Damn dude I'm jealous of your setup!

The floors are from a bowling alley, they're like 4 inches thick. I can't wait to get it broken in with a good natural light shoot.
I'm pretty jealous of your sweet set up so we're even!!
I know I don't post that often on the forum, but I am an avid reader and student of all the knowledge. So, I finally got a first look at the new photography studio that I'm goint to rent with three friends. It's still in very early stages, since the contractor is splitting up an old warehouse into smaller lots to rent out. I think it will be a while before we really start dressing up the place to our liking. I took a few quick snaps so I can announce our Studio Project phase 0.000001 !
You're looking at the studio from the outside in, through the gate. We have 13,5 meters deep by 7,5 meters wide, a 4 meter wide gate and a smaller door. The gate allows big objects to be wheeled in if necessary.
Notice the original hoist? Gives possibilities for a shooting! The signs next to it are still in "old Dutch" from the 1940ies. We also have natural light through a roof window, Northern side. So no direct sun, but still natural light. Perfect!!
It's obvious this project will take a while to be completed, so I hope we can get to work soon (trying to do most of it ourselves if we can). Lights, electricity, heating, a comfy zone, a make-up zone, ...
Best part is that it's only a 10 minute walk from my home! And rent is very decent too. I think we lucked out on this one to be honest. Suggestions for installation and decoration are always welcome of course My plan (but, there's 4 or us) is to build one big stage at the back (no corners, white) with three rolls of paper drawn from above; a smaller second stage with movable paper holders where the gate is, so we can disassemble it when needed; a small cozy area near the door with sofa, make-up, work area. Still need to find a good solution for storage. I already own a decent set of studio lights and so does one of the others. Six lights in total, at the moment. Still need some more softboxes (I already have an octagon) an maybe a portable set to take outside.
another glimpse at a "living room setup" - my very very first TFCD session a couple of weeks back:
emptied one corner of my living room - first pic shows the (approximate) setup:
octa for soft main light, med softbox overhead to eliminate shadows on wall behind subject (was placed closer to wall later), small softbox to even out illumination over the full body length.
