All very nice images with the Jacobin being my fav. Some incredible detail you captured there. I was in Tobago last November and had a great time. Visited the bird sanctuary at Little Tobago and got some decent pictures of the red-billed tropicbirds there. The Hummingbird Gallery in Speyside, Tobago was also a treat for copper-rumped hummingbirds, white-necked jacobins, white-tailed sabrewings and rufous breasted hermits. Unfortunately I just missed the return of the ruby-topaz hummingbirds from their migration.

Ok, I get it. You can stop now.
I have no doubt you are aware of how fortunate you are to have these magnificent critter's to photograph. Here in the desert southwest of New Mexico while we do have hummer's their coloration pales in comparison to your species. Regardless, these tiny birds are simply spectacular and are a wonderment in what they have to endure to survive and propagate. Amazing!
You are an inspiration to all of us. I may have to set my gear up and spend a day with our hummers.
Take care,
PA
Totally understandable Phillip, I hope you make some visits to the Neotropics ocassionally, and that you have been spending quality time with your hummers, look forward to seeing your images.

Thanks for stopping by and your kind words Mike. I know that Tobago run all too well, I did it twice last year- truly something to enjoy, congrats on the Sabrewings and the tropicbirds, really special species to photograph. OOh the Ruby topaz- Mr. Showoff - The Stuner = gives you another reason to visit in the future.
All the best!

Awesome Mike, sounds like you got all the hot spots checked off, glad to know you had a time. I am getting ready to head to Tobago really soon, I usually try to get over there a couple times a year to relax and do some birding.
