Last year I replaced my lost GR with an X100F. But I've returned to Ricoh and the GRIII and will sell the Fuji.
It's good to be back. Just love the spontaneity it encourages. A few from my first outings with it. -John
These images aren't going to be anything special to anyone aside from my family, but perfectly illustrate why I bought this camera. We don't see my brother's family too often, so our kids are basically strangers. It was a ton of fun for us to see my nephew (the boy wearing the handkerchief) interacting so playfully with my kiddos. The back of the restaurant was a bit dark where we were seated and our smartphones struggled; luckily, I had my GR III in the back pocket of my skinny jeans and was able to capture some nice spontaneous moments in higher quality.
A few recent pics, all in Chicago. They are matted like this because that's how I deal with Instagram's square format. Thought I'd try it here instead of outputting another format. I kinda like the way it looks on FM.
So I have a question and maybe I'm missing something but it seems really annoying and pointless if this is how Ricoh set it.... When you press the display button to cycle through until you hit the "display off" option it makes the screen black but it doesn't ACTUALLY turn off the display. I was hoping this would ACTUALLY turn off the display so that I didn't waste batteries (and could therefore use an external viewfinder). However the screen goes black but since it's not OLED it's still using lots of power.
This is just how it is right? I'm not missing something?
