Most of my information came from a conversation with David Lavallee. Maybe he was trying to placate me, but the underlying message was the delay in uploads were directly affecting the profit line of game face.

Good luck with that. This thread is by far the most popular of the year, if not of all time in this category. Too bad we are not able to sort by views/posts. That would show exactly how high ranking this thread is.
And, the thread should thrive and continue, as long as Gameface continues to play games, people need to know about what is going on. Especially the newbies.

If that is the case, perhaps they should have figured out a way to upload nightly after the events....Get FTP. Have the team leaders upload immediately, vs having them drive to an airport AFTER the events, wasting time. And perhaps they should have had a larger team to upload the images. No reason it should take "5-7" days to get them online.

I may have shot 10+ gigs worth of photos per event, multiply that by 5 or so shooters, you have a team leader uploading 50+ gigs, that is just not possible on standard connections.

After they have them uploaded they are still needing them tagged. The last time I was aware of what they were doing for tagging was off shored companies (China. Phillipines, were ever) would manual review and tag bib numbers for each image before they could be uploaded for participants. I too agree that they did little to nothing to make participants aware of the location of the end results. Short of each photographer telling participants to go to Gameface Media to find the photos. It would seem they should have done a significantly better job of making the results available. On occasions I would post on FB pages for events a link to the photos. This was something the management should have done. Gameface Media is directly responsible for failing to get the images to the participants and thus the actually causing the small numbers in participant downloads. Combined with the use of smartphones and GoPros by participants it was not surprising that the free download model is failing. The best example of the model not working has to be the Ragnar series. You have a group of participants pulling together for 24+ hours Gameface photographs them occasionally at a dozen locations, meanwhile three plus members of the group with cameras capture each member several hundred times plus snapping pictures of the group at the step and repeats at the end of the event. Now wait five to seven days for the Gameface photos with watermarks from sponsors, WHY?

202 days and still not paid. Kill the thread ! Why would anyone do that? Sounds like a GF tactic. Just like all the damage control they try to do on their pages. How about pay us and all the negative talk goes away Oh that's right still to busy lining their own pockets and not the ones that actually mean something to the company.

It will be harder to operate using NYC based freelancers as of May 15, 2017 without paying in a timely fashion as a result of the new The Freelancers Aren't Free Act which requires among other things when hiring an independent contractor:
A written agreement for services of $800 or more must be in writing. That $800 can be reached by including the amounts for contracts between the same parties in the immediately preceding 120 days.
Among other things the agreement must spell out the rate and method of payment.
You must pay the freelancer within 30 days of the date specified in the contract or, if no date is specified, within 30 days of completion of the work.
There are penalties for not making timely payment. You can't try to negotiate down the amount owed. You can't get the freelancer to waive any rights under The Act.
Freelancer can recover attorney fees which will incentivize lawyers to take cases.
The full law is here. Perhaps it will inspire other jurisdictions. It's too easy to stretch out payment to or not pay freelancers. Try it with your landlord, bank lender or internet service provider and see what happens.

Aren't there ways to automate that process? Not only is it wasteful on their part, but it's horribly inefficient.

I got a scathing email from Brent accusing me (falsely) of bad mouthing GFM on forums including this one and calling me unprofessional. Up until an hour ago, I didn't even have a account with FredMiranda; this is my first (and only) post ever regarding Game Face. I had to search to find out what he was talking about in his email then found this thread on the forum. I have no idea why Brent thought it was me.
They owe me over $500 from this summer and now accuse me of libeling them. What?! How does GFM have time to scan forums looking for people bad mouthing them? Working 12 hour days, I don't have time to do that, and I don't run a multi-million dollar company that is swimming in debt.
Now I'm blocked from their site and they won't return emails. If you are still trolling forums, Brent, I don't think I was the one who handled this unprofessionally. ...Show more →
POST HIS EMAIL PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE DEALING WITH!!!!!

It's common knowledge that Brent and Marty sold their small businesses to GFM in exchange for shares of GFM stock and a substantial paycheck. https://www.paysa.com/salaries/gameface-media,-inc%E3%80%82--boston,-ma--cl. The plan from the beginning was for GFM to grow quickly and cash out, selling it to company with deep pockets like Facebook or Google. Word is they hoped to sell for some huge amount, like $100 million or even more. At $100 million, somebody with 1% share would be an instant millionaire.
At this point, Brent Doscher, Marty and others at GFM are under tremendous pressure (which may help explain the scathing email to the wrong person), because all their eggs are in one basket. Their company is going down in flames before their very eyes, not to mention that it is doing so publicly. By all indications, that stock has no value. One can only imagine the panic these guys are in right now. They are desperate to stop the damage, but with a ruined brand, it's already too late....Show more →
Interesting.....Wasn't common knowledge too me! Thanks for the insight.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of that either.
In any case, despite there still being a couple events on its schedule for December, and still having shot over a dozen events earlier this month (although over half were canceled), GFM's social media presence has been very quiet recently. The public Facebook page hasn't been updated in over a month, and the only activity it has had was "liking" a visitor's post that had a few photos from an event.

Hello All. I bring some good holiday news
It appears that GFM has received another round of financing.
On 12/22/2016 GFM filed a "Form D" filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission indicating that they received a $2,068,530 investment on 12/07/2016. This round included a total of $3,000,000 being offered of which $931,470 remains open. It appears that GFM received this money on 12/07 since the form must be filed no later than 15 days after the transaction has occurred.
You can read this form yourself by going to www.secinfo.com.
None of this means that we will magically start to get paid. They will probably manage cash flow very carefully (about time) and the investor(s) may have stipulated how the money is to be used (meaning only pay back invoices with incoming receipts). However, GFM has cash in the bank and will hopefully be successful managing the business so we can all be paid.
In other words, GFM will be able to survive 2017 and will hopefully pay us.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays and Happy New Years to my fellow Shooters!

Don't get too excited this is not an outside investment. GFM is taking out a loan against equities. It is robbing Peter to Pay Paul. I guarantee the Paul is not going to be the photographers. The have debt with other such as lease and payroll for Christmas bonuses!!!!!
