This is my 9, almost 10 year old son, Adrian - one of my more camera shy kiddos in the forest in Glacier National Park...I just love the moody feel of this one. I resisted the urge to Photoshop away all of the scratches, dirt, and 'boy stuff' and left it all there - made for a much easier edit. I did, however, remove mosquito bites. lol
It's funny, when I first saw the black and white I thought to myself "WOW that's incredible! It doesn't get better than that!" but then I saw the color image and changed my mind! It does get better!
Love 'em both!
Ugh... tough call on which one I like more! Think I have to say the B/W version due to the catch-light in his eyes seems more pronounced, something keeps drawing me towards that one more, both are fantastic though.
Thank you all! This is natural light, like all of my work. It was a spur of the moment little shoot I did at our camp spot in Glacier National Park. I just placed him near the edge of the treenline where the trees came up to the road - so the darker trees were camera left and the more open road was camera right - I did this to create dramatic lighting across his face.
