A great job on the grebes Geoff, but the loons stand out ~ Ron

These are great...a nice diversion from eagles I wonder if one needs more resolution than a High Def monitor can deliver to really appreciate the 5DS R....but on my lowly Retina screen these look pretty darn good.

Great loon close-up. But that first red-necked shot is fantastic. They certainly are cooperating!

Simply FANTASTIC!!!!!!
Thanks for the comments everyone.
Eric, 5DSR files take one of two things to appreciate: pixel peeping on your retina monitor or printing large prints. The other thing is cropping. However, for shots like these where I filled the frame with 5DSR and with 1DX, posting to web there is no benefit to the 5DSR. Next outing I think I will go 1DX only as I will be after the grebes and loons only and don't need the extra pixels. 1DX files are amazing when you use all the 18MPs.

I notice that you change ISO depending on the camera.
I will let the 1DX go higher than the 5DSR. However in this set the 1DX images were during a light rain shower. The 5DSR was in muted sunlight.

Lovely images Geoff. I am impressed with IQ of 5DSR and 300 2.8 + 2x III. TFS
Thanks. IQ is great with the 300+2x on every camera I've used it on. On the 5DSR it is even better especially if you fill the frame.
