That first one is awesome. How many shots would you say you take when you go out?

This is about as good as it gets. I marvel at the lighting, backgrounds and still water. It's quite dichotomous actually: fast action reduced to a tranquil frame. Thanks for sharing these!

Well I am glad that Spring has arrived in your eyes and mind

Off weather pattern here in Ohio that is for sure and it gets wetter and colder as we move along, I think it is a jump into Summer without much of a Spring again here.

It's truly a pleasure for me as you know to view your work and your stretch outside the norm on composition, it has taught me and pushed me on some thinking along your lines at times so thank you for that.

#1 What other shot can you get away with so many specular highlights and not have them be distracting? In this case that has a bit of explosiveness to a very unique scene and capture of incredible light and and backlight. The light and shadow play on the wings offer so many areas of depth to this image, very cool how that played out. Wing positions are bonus adders here...........truly a beauty!

#2 Oh my! A difficult subject when sitting to expose and render correctly but this one is simply outstanding Interesting how the micro highlight dot on the eye is so effective here. The fractional moment captured both has energy and peace, yes I like it a bunch Maybe a bit more NR on the BG on this one?

#3 A wonderful rendering of what was a gorgeous start to a day. All the warmth and amazement of glow is well felt here and the subject appears to be standing on ice

#4 The comp is killer sweet! What a wicked liftoff angle by Mrs Wood. One wouldn't think that there would be that much water carried up on a take off but you got it all and the ever so colorful Mr Wood is a nice anchor to the shot. Sweet!

#5 How do pan at this angle so low? Are you in a dugout? Love the richness of color that is offered by the wet feathers on the head, the golden eye is a wonderful stand out. Incredible!

#6 A statement in simplicity and its total effectiveness. The comp is spot on and one that many would struggle with, simply the head patterns and colors in that space works so well and I am not asking for more, it all works magic here

#7 The subject that many pass on, a good example of what light and angle can do as well as proper exposure and composition. Love the little white tuft just ahead . I do see a few spots to work on directly behind the subject perhaps.

#8 Poetry in motion, feet in motion, forward wing thrust and that ideal glimpse of an eye so nicely placed. The reflective light from the water fills the chest nicely. I like the placement slightly above centerline here Chris, all in good harmony buddy, well captured, well presented

You have an amazing eye, you have amazing patience, you must have a lot of time invested to get these results, I am again totally impressed...............Thank you for sharing, it's not taken for granted.

I look forward to the next series
Karl

I encourage all to view your galleries for inspiration, such diversity and character to be seen and felt.

Chris, outstanding work. All are frame-worthy but for me, #2 and #8 are especially appealing.

Excellent. I'm most impressed that you can see the ring on the ringed-neck duck; not easy to do. All these are lovely with great light and super low angle!
Please send some of these animals to Ontario! I'm waiting.
