p.1 #1 · Working the backgrounds while the eaglets feed...
Now that the eaglets are a week and a half old they are already standing up and become easier to see and photograph compared to the first week when they are buried in the nest bowl.
This allows me to walk down the hill and change the background of my shots. The backgrounds in this set are combinations of river, sandbars, distant trees and distant mountains.
1) Traditional from the top of the bank
2) River background
3) River and far bank
4) My favourite distant evergreens across the river

Ya know, those foregrounds aren't too shabby either !
Seriously though, great to have options / tones that compliment your subjects. I often curse my backgrounds so I can fully appreciate the deliberate use of these.

Quite the vantage point Geoff, #4 and #5 have sweet BG's. Each image is amazing in color and detail, excellent presentation of these, what a gear combo!

Thanks BB, most of my time is spent staring through the VF and waiting for all 3 to be looking up or towards the camera.

Super images, Geoff! Never thought I'd say it, but I wish I could live in YT for a few months out of the year (and no, I don't mean the winter months)
Thanks Mitesh, What, you didn't like the weather in Haines this Nov??

Dang - it's as if you're actually sitting in the nest with them. Hopefully they weren't rude and offered some fish to you while shooting
Anyways - awesome set and thanks for sharing the life of these eagles!
JC
Thanks JC. I think most of their fish is now past the due date I think they have stronger stomachs than we do!!
