Relatively good sharpness, but being a consumer-grade lens, the resolution/detail is not as good as the Olympus 300 PRO or PL 100-400 lens ... and the background blur is not something to write home about.
A Merganser (I think) from the trip. Speaking of the trip; I alternated using the a99ii and the M1ii daily or afternoon-morning. I'm going to play with the M5 for a while now.
Now this little duck was pretty far off. I figure to get seriously close I'd need a blind.
Oops, forgot the EXIF for those that care-
Olympus E-M1MarkII
LEICA DG 100-400/F4.0-6.3
ƒ/6.3 400.0 mm 1/1600 250 Flash (off, did not fire)

Congratulations on your PL. When will you move on the M1ii ??
Thanks, MM. Ordered the E-M1 II and the 12-100 this morning. Got a message about 8% eBay bucks today, so that was a nice $200 bonus for buying both today from Kenmore Camera's eBay store .
Really interested to try these out and compare them to my Canon and Sony gear.
Welcome to the m43 world, Mitesh! We are anxious to see some samples and hear your views about this combo and about m43 in general. Just remember that you cannot expect a 20mp m43 sensor to match the quality of a 42mp FF sensor when you pixel-peep at 200% or even at 100% ... but I think you will be quite surprised and pleased with the results.

Thanks, Bobby. No unrealistic expectations here. Primarily looking for a reasonable solution for when a Canon DSLR and big, heavy super telephoto lens aren't desirable or practical. Oh, and I really don't care what each pixel looks like at 200% — it's what the final image looks like that matters to me .
Never having tried m43, the E-M1 II is a very compelling camera that pushed me to give the system a shot. The AF performance compared to a DSLR is what I am really interested in seeing for myself.
Try renting the Olympus 300/4 PRO lens. I think you will be very impressed. It's as good as any Canon Great White.

It's been in my shopping cart all day .
get it man. Compare it to my canon/600 or nikon/800 combo, this is 1/5 the weight. The lens is a tad higher than the in-and-out drink cup. I'll hit the field tomorrow to test out the AF to see how is it compare to the big white/black.
My just delivered today. Got it from Adorama for $2300

You guys are worse enablers than the Canon Forum
Seeing how you are into bird photography, you need a rig/system like mine ... E-M1 Mk II + 300/4 PRO lens + Nissin i60A + MacBeam flash extender, mounted to a Wimberley Sidekick which in turn is mounted to my Arca Swiss Z1 ballhead and Gitzo GT 2540 legset. This is waaaay smaller and lighter than say a Canon 1Dx II + 600/4L II + 600EX-RT + Better Beamer + Wimberley WH-200 II Gimbal Head.

lol...compare to the lightest combo from canon (1dx mkii + 400DO mkii), more than half the weight. You can't resist that brother. I will get rid of all the Canon stuff pretty soon.
