p.34 #1 · Olympus E-M1 Mk II

Even if it doesn't match the current top of the line camera in terms of AF performance, setting the standard for mirrorless AF performance is something that should be applauded. Exceeding what the X-T2 or the A6500 can do, if true, is an accomplishment. I have seen enough examples off the E-M1 II Facebook group to see that I'll be satisfied with both the IQ and AF performance. But again that's just me. Can't comment on others.

Great post, but don't forget that a lot of people like to blame the "GEAR" - easier than admitting that they lack the skills to take great shots.

Good lord man, is your reading comprehension that poor or are you just being dishonest?

What I actually wrote:

If you really think the full quote there suggests that I believe the camera is actually on capable of hitting 1 or 2 shots in a long sequence then you're simply wildly misreading what I wrote. The point remains that bobbytan claimed the video showed that the camera is able to "track and nail focus". The video only shows one or two shots from each sequence rather than strings of in focus shots. If tracking and nailing focus meant one or two shots

You get browny points for not denying that you did write your post.

A better review, but pretty dismal example of BIF shots.

Yup, I agree. However, I have my own bird shots to go by with E-M1 and 300/4 Pro.

Well, there's no proof like your own testing, but I'm pretty convinced that the camera will perform very well.
Hopefully, I'll get it shortly after the shipping date as I put my name on the list as soon as it was announced.

If the original shipping date hadn't been delayed, they'd be going out today. Just sayin'.

Fingers crossed they make the Dec. 12th target, and all of us who've ordered catch the first-wave supply in time for our holiday plans.

I don't understand why these camera companies don't get the right photographers in the right conditions to do their review. It's always good to see more reviews, but I couldn't watch that whole thing either. The link to the photographs was nice, but good lord the light is pure crap and the images that I downloaded were too. I hope no one paid for that safari because you might as well shoot without a card in the camera versus keeping those images.

I don't think too many pro photographers switched to OLYMPUS in the past who specialized in sports or BIF. So who do you give it to? You give the new cameras to bloggers who will talk about them being great. Bottom line is always $$$ for a corporation, and volume speaks volumes. Profits will come from the masses who will purchase the new EM-1, not from a few pro shooters. I don't think too many birders or sport shooters will switch to this camera. There is a member on m4/3.com from Sweden who shoots Rally races and other fast moving subjects and he is good with the EM-1. Let's see what he has to say when he purchases the mark 2.

Yes, BUT, what is the point of making a speed demon camera unless that is a target audience? If that is the target audience, why not give it to someone to show off those capabilities?

I am with you, it doesn't make any sense. Why isn't Diego not testing it for BIF and sports? He is good?
