Cleaning out my files, I realized I hadn't processed a few from the D500 from a day out photographing Sea Eagle's fishing a few years back! All with the D500 + 80-400 f4.5-5.6G VR

Every Sat they have the Masters and Rookies series...but this coming Sat is off because of the track National in CA. Is back on the next Sat, the 14th. As for the photo access? They recommend you to wear some sorts of orange or yellow vest. They don't have much restrictions other than staying on the grass area. Their Tues and Friday events are more pro and involving with more UCI riders. Haven't shot those yet and not sure about photo access...
Shooting track racing is a whole another level actually.....because you don't get pretty ambient environment to distract and to take away your crappy action shots...hehehehhehe.... environmental shots are cool but....
thank you. and yes I saw. I have been looking over the calendar. believe me I have a number of colorful and not so colorful vests for all sorts of events/situations. there's always one or two in the trunk.
Quick, stupid question, but one that I can't find a solution to in my searches: using Auto-ISO in M, and in the view finder it just keeps showing a blinking "auto-ISO", instead of the ISO value the camera is choosing. I really don't like this, is there any way to have it show the metered ISO value instead?

Menu item d3, "ISO display", in the custom setting menu will display the metered ISO value in the viewfinder when set to "ON".
So I have that set and it shows the changing ISO value as the camera is metering, but when I half-press the shutter it switches from showing the ISO to displaying the remaining buffer space (an "r29", in my case). I guess I could enable the AE Lock on shutter half-press, but it's still kind of annoying that the ISO is no longer displayed.
Does anyone know of an after market front shade for the new 500mm E lens that has a window or wheel to turn a polarizing filter while the hood is attached?
Thank you,
Dale
