Enough people have started to post images from it...time to start its own thread.

Here's my humble beginings to the thread. A captive Snow Leopard from the Calgary Zoo who was very interested in meating (not a typo) my son.

Reminds me of the amazing book by the title of the "Snow Leopard.." A gorgeous animal, a fine photograph. Congratulations on your new camera that many on this site believed would NEVER happen. I guess Nikon really was listening to the complaints from D300 fans who wanted an upgrade. I'm enjoying observing the excitement of those who love a DX camera with a rugged body. Have fun! I'll enjoy seeing the photos you and your compatriots post.

Air-to-air with two of the Planes of Fame air museum's rarer birds: the Curtiss-built P-47G Thunderbolt and the Northrop N9M Flying Wing. The D500 performed admirably.

I suppose the 200-500 f5.6E VR is that good!? Maybe I should consider that over 70-200 2.8 VR II for d500?

I think it is safe to say that the new af does a decent job at tracking!!!

Some higher ISO shots. QUite impressive if you ask me.

A few more highish ISO noise examples all taken with the 200-500 f5.6 VR.

I'd say more than acceptible for ISO45,600

1,100sec, f7.1, ISO45,600 handheld.



1,200sec, f8, ISO7,200 handheld.



1,320sec, f8, ISO4,000 handheld.



1,200sec, f8, ISO2,000 handheld.



1,200sec, f8, ISO9,000 handheld.
