I gotta get my kids to sign me up. I'm really bad with social media stuff. Lol
Well it's an excellent skill to master! My community helped me raise $15K a little over a year ago to send me on a photography project; I still owe them BIG TIME but social media gave me some serious exposure. I've known about Fred Miranda's site for a LONG time but it required a serious learning curve with Legacy Glass on full frame that is causing me to return here over and over.
Micro Four Thirds (mirrorless) was much more forgiving...

I was thinking that was possible? Just in case is there a resource or instruction video to make those adjustments. I wouldn't touch this lens unless it's a relatively easy fix. To be honest, I like being able to focus lightly passed infinity and would like to be able to do that on this lens as well if it's possible?
Nate
I do not believe anyone has gotten word as of yet on how to adjust the hard stop. I am with you and like mine to go just a sliver beyond infinity so I know I get the sharpest picture I can and to adjust for conditions.
Someone a page back said they were asking Steven at Camera Quest but have not reported back in.

I'm thinking it may screw with the electronic communication and precision of the e-mount version of the lens which may be more complex than we may think? It's not like fly-by-wire focusing so the hard infinity stop might be required for precise communication?? In that case, it may be better to leave it as is.

Stephen Gandy is still getting back to me on the infinity adjustment on the E-mount version. I'll ping him again today. He was trying to talk to Cosina and/or their repair shop.
"Basically, this has largely to do with the reflective nature of the sensor surface. As light rays enter the lens, they get squeezed into a very small aperture. At this point, each internal reflection in the form of flare is already part of the image. The light rays reach the sensor and immediately bounce back to the rear element of the lens. In essence, each pixel on the sensor that gets hit with the bright source of light reflects some of the light back to the rear element – that’s what creates the grid pattern. "

Yes, welcome to mirrorless design lenses that put the rear element close to the sensor. I suspect the surface curvature and AR coating of the rear element plays a role too.

I still get sensor reflection on my a7rii, it's not as bad as it was on the a7ii but still there. It's just something we have to live with unfortunately

I think Fred and myself might have got the last ones from Camera Quest. I ordered the same day Fred said he did. I had a pre-order deposit in that I was sitting on. I'm glad I followed through with it because my copy is good from f/5.6.

I have been pondering getting one of these to complement the Leica R 21-35 Vario Elmar which I use on my A7R II. However, reading even the last few pages of this post it just all seems to be too much trouble. "Ars longa vita brevis" and all that, but vita is too brevis for this sort of thing I think. I would have expected better from CV so maybe it is a really tricky design to manufacture and the tolerances are just too tight. Of course, it might also be that camera mount variation plays its part with a complex lens like this.

I have NOTHING to complain about on with this lens now. My only complaint was dust on my sensor out in the field. Maybe I over processed this a bit but it simply looked hyper real. I'm very happy to have the lens and can safely conclude that the latest batch was good because this was my first... And it came from PhotoVillage for those of you are thinking of buying.
