One from 2013 never processed till now. Not having much luck getting out this year it is nice when I find a photo I've overlooked.
From a weekend trip to Ontario this easy to get to waterfall near Ear Falls is not easy to shoot as it is enclosed by a power damn. So composing the whole waterfall without getting man-made objects in it was impossible. So I focused on a more intimate part of the falls as the last of the day's light crawled its way up.
It definitely works for me. Based on your description of the scene, you did a great job framing the photograph and as always captured the light extremely well. Very well done and thanks for sharing.

This is really cool. Love the golden glow to the water.
As for shooting, maybe you should move out of the frozen north? It's hard to shoot when you can't open the door to your cabin for 5 months because it's under 30 feet of snow. Come to sunny California! Lot's to shoot here every day. In fact some days I know it's going to be an awesome sunset and I purposely don't go out because I am already too far behind on my processing, I don't want to add more to the backlog.
Nice shot. I would have shot it tight like this anyway, regardless of the man-made structures. Grand vistas are overrated. I'm more of a detail kind of guy.

Quite the lovely golden falls Scott. For some reason I don't remember seeing too many waterfall images with the falls basked in golden light. Well done.
Dave you are right. I pushed the 40D as far as I could with this one. I did have to do a tiny bit of touching up in the golden highlights in the top part of the falls.
