p.1 #1 · Stormy light and fresh snow on the Cuernos del Paine

I have just returned from my second trip to Patagonia and was fortunate enough to score some fantastic conditions. The day we arrived sunset was pretty much a no-go due to being blasted by 150km/h winds however the following morning proved fruitful; although it was looking pretty bad to start with eventually some light broke through and created a very dynamic scene - with a ton of fresh snow on the peaks to boot.

really gorgeous and I think that view is one of the best in the park. I never got tired of looking at it.

Your 2nd trip? Man, I still haven't made there for a first trip!

This is a really sweet looking shot. It's great that the sun popped out for you. What lens did you shoot this with?

This is very nice!
Great mood too with the peaks in cloud-shade & the sun-kissed hills

I went last March/April for the first time and within a month of getting home had a flight booked to go back this year

Cheers - it was shot with the Voigtlander 90/3.5 APO-Lanthar SLII on a D810. True gem of a lens; tiny, light and razor sharp.

This is gorgeous! The warm side lighting mixing with the dark storm clouds is sublime.

Beautiful, dramatic scene with the light and clouds. I like it a lot too with the water completely cropped off.

Striking contrast here between and sunlit and shadow parts. Dramatic mountain formations complement it very nicely.

Nice light and atmospherics on Cuernos del Pain. I hope to do my 2nd trip soon and as for the wind you almost have to experience it to believe it, where hurricane force winds are not uncommon.

Beautiful shot!
I might try burning the mountain in the background just a tad because its a brightness is a bit distracting.
But it is just a niggle.

I had no idea why the car rental place told me doors weren't covered. He had to find someone to explain it in English.

The winds.... well, quiet one minute and 100 mph the next. I have a picture, of my wife, leaning at about a 45 degree angle into the wind.

Great pic OP and can't wait to return.

I agree, with the water cropped out your eye can just concentrate on those amazing peaks and the wonderful light.
Either way it's a stunning image
