I like #3 best. The juxtaposition between the ballet clothing and the street outfit helps to accent her athleticism. i.e. I notice her muscle definition more in the dress. Nice set and congrats on your new working studio.

It looks like you've adapted well to the new space -- no surprise given how great your on-location lighting always is. All of these are strong shots. If you forced me to pick a favorite, it would be #3.
If I had to dig for a nit, it would be the background seam in #3.
All are great but #2 and #3 are definitely my favorites. #3 is extraordinary but as the father of a dancer I would love to have a large print of my daughter like the #2 shot hanging in the living room.
Thanks, everyone! No. 3 is really an interesting one for me. I wanted to get the flow of her skirt, and originally I wanted the skirt to be completely flowing, not really showing the motion/movement that you see here in No. 3. I shot it from a couple vantage points, include from 10 feet high shooting down on her. But in the end, it was this shot that spoke to me with the hair covering part of one eye but still flying around her, and the skirt -- as others have mentioned -- mimicking the movement of her arms.
No. 2 was something she came up with all on her own. Very statuesque, just so graceful.
I like doing a solo shoot with a dancer as I can really take my time and work the lights to really sculpt her. When I have a whole group of dancers come, as in yesterday with a high school dance team, I can't really adjust the lights for every pose, for every dancer. So thanks so much for the comments, I really appreciate it.
Great work, Ron. They are all great, but number 2, followed by number 1, is my favorite. I love the pensive look while en pointe. Her hair, her look, her outfit, the red chair, the wood floor and the brick background are each gorgeous, together they make a perfect picture.
And the floor and wall are outstanding, too. I have a feeling that you will create beautiful pictures in there.
These are all just excellent, excellent shots. I like them all. And I'm sure we will see more of this now with the new studio in production. Very nice work!
