Magnificent shots, Hobbes!! Was the 300mm long enough or did you have to crop heavily for the close ups?

Thanks Amit! I found the 300 to be perfect. There were only a few occasions where I added a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter. Most of the shots have minor cropping and some no cropping, including the close-ups. There were times that we were quite close to the cheetahs, and others where we followed at quite some distance to give them room, or drove quite a distance ahead anticipating where they would come.

I had the pleasure to visit the Mara in feb. and we saw cheetah's there too, but not for four days in a row!

Fantastic captures; you really made a beautiful story of cheetah family life. Outstanding work.

Thanks! I don't know about selling your house, but you might want to think about selling everything else except your camera and get on the next plane! Too much fun!!

Thanks everyone. But the real credit goes to the cheetah mom and her ~6 month old cubs. The mother cheetah was so caring and loving of her cubs, the cubs so playful and such a tight group of siblings. And all together they are just too darn cute and photogenic!
