This picture was captured a few weeks ago at Valley View, Yosemite.
It is by far my favorite location. The Merced river flow sounds therapeutic and the view never cease to amaze me.
This one was taken in a cloudy day during contrast hours making it a perfect black and white candidate.
Taken with a Sony A7RII + FE 16-35/4
The Exif data shows f/9 but the bottom rocks and river where exposed at f/18 for more DOF and smoothness in the water.
I agree..perfectly composed Fred! The mercury-like water, excellent exposure, brilliant texture and detail......that camera/lens combo seems to really go well together.

This is super cool! You have really been working these B&W's, and they look great. Gates of the Valley is probably my favorite location in he park also, lot's of time spent there.
Breathtaking and gorgeous in every way, Fred! We don't often get the pleasure of seeing your magnificent work, but that rarity makes this that much more special. Bravo!!

Nice imaging, Fred. I've never seen you publish such a dark, gloomy, almost eerie image. You certainly were in a contrasty mood.
My daughter had the same reaction. Mood definitely influences the way we take pictures. Thanks for your comment,
Fred
