Still going through some images from last years trip, before this years workshop to Ecuador. So many species (over 120) and so many birds ! Beautiful country and kind people.
I could spend years imaging these birds. Looks like I should consider Ecuador. I'm humbled by your results! That last one is a great bird. Does his tail grow like that or does he prune it like the motmots?

My wife and I just cancelled our trip to the Pantanal this summer due to the health crisis there..thinking of the Galapagos instead. Are there other places in Ecuador that are worth visting in addition to the islands?
The setup is basically 6-8 speedlights controlled on radio triggers. About 4-6 flashes around the hummingbird and 1-2 on the background. The shutter speed of 1/250 or 1/200 is not the speed you see in the image. The flashes provide a very fast pulse of light equivalent to 1/5000 sec thus freezing the bird. The high f/stop is needed to provide detail of the whole bird and flower.
