Oh man, these are sweet. Can't ever go wrong with the landscape view but I like the 2nd for being slightly different. Really digging the blue tones you've captured
Super nice and fantastic photos, what else to say?!!! Well done
Now those photos making me wish to get Sony A7rII, not interested in this lens, i have already great lenses and regardless it is a zeiss i don't feel i only want to invest in glasses only.

fred these are really wonderful. I love blue hour and this is a great place to shoot at blue hour. #1really stands out for me. I like both them but #1 is special
Thank you mysh,
For the first, I used a lower shutter speed for the sky. I believe it was 30 seconds with a 3-stop ND filter.

These are both amazing! I would personally lighten them up a bit but I can tell you didn't to create a mood. Well done
Thanks for your comment. At first, I edited both images a little lighter but after looking at it for a while, I realized the scene was very dark when I captured so I went for the darker deep shadows versions instead.

OOPS! Sorry Fred!
Messing up names is something I tend to do. I get my kids names mixed up all the time. Worse, I have a bad habit of calling my current Wife by one of my my ex-Wife's name. She charges me $20.00 each time I do it. Cheap by my calculations, could be much worse...

Fred,
That first one is magic! I'm also so glad to see a Zeiss 21mm in FE!!

Thanks Dave,
Yes and it's by far my favorite native lens right now. It renders like the bigger ZF/ZE 21/2.8 for about half the weight.

lovely but why two blends?
Usually when I need a lot of DOF, I take capture two images: One at the lens optimum aperture (Usually f/5.6 or f/8) and another at f/16, f/18 or f/22 depending on how close foreground elements are. Then I blend them in post getting the best of the two. Usually I use the smaller aperture capture for the foreground elements, sky and water and the rest of the image remains at the sweet aperture spot. I find this technique faster than focus stacking and with more natural results.
Thanks Fred. As stated by fpistudio - how do you focus then? For both zoom and prime? And what do you do with your 35mm TS lens? I also own it and so interested in your mo.

Magnificient images Fred! What is so outstanding is the fact that as the image loads you see blue..blue..then wham..the beautiful sunlight walls of the rock and the snow capped rocks and water!

Tareq,
Thanks for your comment,
You can't go wrong with Zeiss SLR lenses with the A7RII but the new native Zeiss Loxia line brings the same color and contras signature in a much smaller form.

In certain situations, a tilt and shift lens is not the best choice. This is a good example where I would not use tilt to increase DOF as a lot of the scene would be out of the tilted focus plane and therefore out of focus.. Aperture stack is just an alternative way to focus stack and imo, yields a more natural rendering.
