Merry Christmas to all and wishing everyone a prosperous 2016!
As usual it is an absolute treat to view all of your best/favorite images from the year... I love this annual thread.
I don't have much to choose from in 2015 but still enjoyed the few times I was able to get out shooting. Since May my camera has been pointed most often at our first granddaughter Abigail... sigh... she has completely captured my heart.
Here are two of my favorites from the first half of the year just a few days apart.
I think that I misread the original post and for some reason thought that it was two image for quarter. I apologize for posting too many in the first and second quarter. Newbie... lol
Anyways, here are two to finish this post, in a great thread show casing some fine imagery.
My 4th quarter was a bit slow for wildlife, but I did borrow a 600ii from CPS for a week. While the critters weren't totally cooperative, I did find one worth looking at...
What a treat! Not only to see such great images but to hear from old friends!
Q4: I spent a couple days with David Salem in SoCal looking for raptors looking for food. Here's one success (for the photographer as well as the American Kestrel):
Love the shot of the Cross Fox. I have never heard of the Cross Fox till this year on a trip to Yellowstone where I was lucky enough to shoot a den for a few days.
As I mentioned in my post last week, not much wildlife photography for me in 2015... so for my 3rd and 4th quarter post I offer some "nature" images for something different.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful road-trip through the beautiful southwest in November. The highlight of the trip for me was our two days in Monument Valley. Day one was a windy afternoon with lots of clouds moving quickly over the valley which provided some dramatic lighting opportunities. On day two we woke up to a beautiful scene of a snow covered wonderland.
If you ever go to Monument Valley (and you REALLY should go), I highly recommend staying at The View Hotel. These two pics were taken from the patio/walkway area of the hotel, but these views are also visible from the balcony of your room.
