A grand discovery I made today. This location will bear returning to, although it's a long ways. I only had 15 minutes (or less) to shoot before the sun dropped out of sight. Running from the Jeep right to the cliff like a lemming. I actually did de-saturated the reds, but it was a direct hit by the setting sun.
Thanks guys! It's a very cool location in person. I'm hoping there's a better way to capture the jagged edge along the top of this. Takes a little Jeeping and hiking to get to. It got dark really fast yesterday after the sun went down, so no time to look....
Gordon, I see what you're saying. I think each version has it's strengths. With the first, like you say you can make out the distant cliffs better. But the second seems to let the knife edge detail stand out more...
