Explosive! Love the action and frame filling with subject here Ted. I could be wrong but maybe there is a touch of magenta on the whites here?
Gnarly and I love it!

Whoop, there it is!! Great power in the image, and I love the wing tip feathers reaching out at you - a neat 3D effect. Great shot Ted!

Great action shot Ted !!!! It does look very familiar. Is it the same bird as on your website homepage ? Did Woody coax you to post it after 5 years in the vault ? See you soon my friend.

This is where I feel a few lines should be drawn. There are fantastic photos that are drop-dead gorgeous that can be that way because of the birds innate beauty, the surrounding scenery, the PHOTOGRAPHER being exceptionally talented, etc.
This photo does not fit just on that side of the line being drawn-
This is because you ticked all those boxes, and got to move onto the spontaneous, action-filled, visceral, adrenaline-packed, heat-of-the-moment bird image realm. I do not get to be excited on a gut level from bird photographs all that often. This image is screaming, "print me HUGE, put me an exceptionally moody gallery in a huge wooden frame!"
Right place, right bird, right photographer. All that's here- with the addition of right time. And I think the fact that "right time" is a spontaneous, generally unpredictable variable, this image stands out.
Respect!
Have a great week Ted-
