The fall color canyons in the Eastern Sierras didn't seem to offer much in the way of sunrise shots. So, I went scouting on Wednesday afternoon for sunrise potential. I decided on this view across the Round Valley towards Mt Tom. It is just North of Bishop, on U.S. 395. A light snow dusted the tops of the higher peaks overnight, and the sunrise was beautiful.
This is a three shot panorama of Friday morning's sunrise.

That is absolutely stunning!! Print it and hang it!!
Thanks Carl. Plenty of detail for printing in this one. It is about a 68mp file after stitching the pano so should print fairly large. It will get printed at some point.
Amazing light! My only recommendation would be to take another look at the upper left hand corner in the sky. It looks a bit over-polarized/ the highlights being pushed a bit too far. But it could also be my laptop screen calibration. Well done.
Very cool shot, Steve.
Mt. Tom is such a gargantuan massif, and you have captured it in the sweet morning light, framed with a pastoral scene in FG. Love this area, and you have captured the East Side feeling here.
Thanks for all of the kind words everyone. This was my first time photographing the Eastern Sierras. I really enjoyed the experience. Also, this image represents the first time I scouted out a shot the day before. Beginner's luck for sure, but I would like to think I am learning too.
Many of you seem to know the area well. I'm glad you enjoyed the image.
Beautiful scenery.
You are not really asking for a feedback, but there is something strange with the processing. Light areas are way too light. If you do half-tone masking and reduce brightness of the highlights, it will become much more natural.

Sasha.
Sasha, I am always open to learning, so feedback is definitely welcome. Thanks for taking the time to contribute. I will try to look up half-tone masking and see if I do it, and if it does improve the image.
