It was largely rhetorical but also genuine. I am toying with getting an MF lens again now that my cataracts have been treated. There are so many wonderful lenses to choose from, and not only Loxias. Something with a wow factor. Probably a 50 or perhaps a 35, for people pics. I would not want an 85 until I was confident I can MF as I used to do.

From what I keep reading the 35 is the softest of the bunch by 61MP standards. The 50 is better and the 21 and 85 are excellent with the 25 somewhat level with the 50.
The 50s are available very cheaply these days and might be worth trying! It's no Voigtlander APO, but it's certainly still formidable from what I read.
I find my 25 better than my 21, but maybe my 21 isn't representative of what the 21 could be.

Taken recently with all Loxias in the lineup and Sony A7CR.They all fit 61 mpx FF sensor very well. And yes,35/2 and 50/2 are the "weakest",but only in technical terms around wide open.Besides their overall rendition is very Zeissy. In order to enjoy Loxias most, the best way is to use the whole set without discriminating this or that.

Gorgeous colors and rendering in those photos Peire.. The 35 and 50. dont get enough love as sharpness wide open is the attribute that gets talked about. I love the colors and consistency across the line that I just purchased an entire set of loxias along with the 40, 85 & 135 batis.

Thank you.Colour and microcontrast consistency across the Zeiss lenses line is also something I admire too, while not taking care too much about sharpness wide open, which otherwise is very decent in real life photographs.
Gorgeous imaged Peire, as always! You're a real Loxia Ambasador!
I have all Loxia's except the 21. Can't justify the buy because I already have the FE 20 F1.8G that is my go-to lens for the night sky.
The 25 and 85 I like the most, and I should realy get the 50 out more often. The 35 was my latest purchase (2nd hand) and it performs above my expectations for typical landscape apertures.
It's is only anoying that my 35 has some aperture/focus magnification problems on some apertures (the reported problem on some loxia's on some Sony bodies).

Thank you Michel85 for your kind words. The difference in fov between Loxia 25 and 21 is only about 10 degrees,so many people decide to take one of them only.I have initially experienced some magnification problems with 35/2 and A7CR,but they quickly disappeared somehow after a few shots.
Very nice. Sorry if that was asked before, but do you mind sharing your experience with the 7CR + Loxias?
I'm thinking about a setup of 7CR and just 3, 4 small lenses. Loxia 21mm is a must for me. Sigma 17mm small prime,
plus maybe the new upcoming Voight 28 f1.5. Maybe I would add Loxia 25mm as I remember Zeiss 25 being
one of my favorite lenses. What do you think?
