Haha, I did exactly the same a few weeks ago. Kamera express sold me their last (new) copy for €699,- after cashback.
It was the first Loxia that I bought, in 2018, and although the Loxia 25 became my favorite Loxia, the Loxia 35 has this wonderful "organic" look, and although when I returned to Sony, I thought I would not buy it again, it was browsing through images from my first Loxia that made me decide to get it again, especially being faced with a possible discontinuation of course...
It is strange though: I had the 35GM for 6 months, and although objectively and technically a better lens, with AF to boot, the images did not give me the same pleasure that the Loxia 35 images give me...
I guess we are entering this era where resolution and clean, neutral images are all that matters, and the special character of photography comes less and less from the lenses, but must somehow be conjured up in post processing.
Although I have to say that the 35GM did have a special kind of character, just more and more, the images mainly look hyper realistic.
The Loxia's are something of a sanctuary to shelter from computer designed perfect lenses that excell in not offending anyone with weaknesses.
Both you and Chris perfectly show why I still love the Loxia 35 the best of my 35mm lenses.
And to clarify a point: I do use similar PP on most of my photos with various lenses (especially, and including Zeiss) and get fantastic and predictable results. As mentioned by Chris, Loxia 25 is my favorite of the line, as the focal length suits my interests. But the 35 is still my second favorite, and the very first Loxia lens I purchased.
If a great deal on a Milvus 35/2 (Canon mount) ever shows up, I may get one of those too, but I fear the size and weight with MC-11 adapter would make it less appealing. I still love my ZE 35/2 very much, but seldom use it on Sony over the Loxia 35.
Somehow the Loxia images appeal a lot to me. I´m considering to get a used Loxia 50/2, mainly for landscape use, long exposures and panorama.
It would nicely complement my current lenses for my A7RIII: FE 20 F1.8 G, FE 35 F1.4 GM and FE 70-200 F4 G.
What is the general opoinion on the Loxia 50 here?

The 21/25/85 are considered to be better, more modern lenses. Stopped down, the 50 is great as well. The 85 has, in my opinion punchier colors and contrast. The images stand out more. But, it is not a 50 and it is slightly bulky and heavy for what it is.
The 50 renders very similarly to the 35 but without the same flaws wide open (although the 35's flaws are part of its magic). It's a great little lens.

I have all the Loxias except the 35 and 50, where I use the CV 35/2 & 50/2 APOs.....you guys have me wanting (maybe irrationally) to complete my set.
Why not?
I seldom use my Loxia 85, and second least is the Loxia 50. But I love having them, if and when I want to use them.
Go ahead and treat yourself, at the low prices on the B&S board. I've thought of buying an extra L35 or L25, just in case something ever happens to mine. I would hate to be without at some point.
Between the couple CV (15E and 40E), the Loxia set, and the Batis 18, 25 and 40, I'm pretty well covered. I may get the Batis 85 someday, but it's just so hard for me to find telephoto subjects.
I still have ZE 18/3.5, 25/2, 28/2, 35/2 and 50/1.4, so can get Canon use out of these, or use adapter for Sony.
I just got back from a family vacation to Michigan. Shot the Loxia 25, CV 35, CV 50, and Loxia 85 quite a bit. Other than the different feel, the CVs fit in well with the Loxias. I probably could have left the Simga 14-24 at home and taken the Loxia 21, but it's hard to know what you'll use when you've never been to a place.
Maybe.....I'm missing the Loxia 35 & 50 and the Batis 85.....if I had all 3 of those I'd have both sets complete.
I also have all the E mount APO Lanthars.
I think I'm more of a collector than a photographer.

Maybe I'm not the best judge, being similarly "compromised". But from even your technical comparisons, you never lack the great eye for composition and lighting. And your PP is pretty great most of the time!
So, collect away -- you deserve it, and make use of your gear in very smart ways. (Says one addict to another! )
