Hello,
New to the forum. Just got back from a trip to Europe and here are a couple from the Loxia 50 mm of Tower Bridge and London Tower (We saw the new Spiderman movie when we got back and it was funny to see both of these locations in the film).

What do you like better? did you compare them side by side? Less FC?
I don't see much IQ degradation so haven't worried too much. Looked at the 35 briefly and had slightly better borders at the expense of midfield, but not enough to worry too much about.
It's actually mostly about focus. With the TZE you get all of Nikon's focus aids. The best with a chipped lens is that the focus point changes from red to green when it hits focus. It's way more accurate than peaking, about the same as focus mag, but you don't have to compose blindly. Still getting good at the speed of focus, but it keeps getting better, it's easier and easier to catch moving targets. Not perfect, but much better. A little more time and should be pretty solid.
Also, it's just processing defaults (so could set a camera default profile with ACR), but the Z's make the Zeiss colors pop. Been meaning to look at this more actually but only have an A7R currently so not the most current comparison.

I notice that the Loxia 35/2 has wavy field curvature on the Sony sensor but copy variation make this hard to see in not so great copies.
With a perfectly centered copy (rare for this lens), center and extreme corners are actually great at f/4 but mid-field does not perform as great until about f/8 (where FC gets masked)
If one focus on the mid-zone, center and extreme corners denigrate. Perhaps this aspect is different on the Nikon's thinner sensor stack.
21mm has got to be my favorite UW FL. After having a 10-18 and 16-35, 21 allows me to have a prime that can capture the grandness of a wide image while also being able to throw it on for more casual use too. I was interested in trying out a Batis 18 or Batis 25 for AF, but the Loxia 21 makes it a hard choice.
I definitely thought I would've wanted something wider for my trip the the Vessel in NY, but the 21 did a great job of capturing the look I was going for. Highly recommend this location for photographers in New York.
