My friend' s brand new EF85/1.2L .......NO FTM available?
but EF135/2L EF100/2.8MU FTM available.
A NEW VERSION EF85/1.2L
I have the lens and it's ring USM. It has FTM also. Canon also say so. But you are still saying that Canon don't know if their lenses has ring USM or not...................
I can tell that you have never used any of those 3 lenses that you talked about. 50/1,0-------------85/1,2---------200/1,8

This may seem like a case of Captain Obvious to the Rescue, but... XU88 - You know you have to be in "One Shot" mode to use FTM, right?
Hmm, maybe I'm wrong, but that's not necessarily true. I use Servo mode all the time and have split the controls so focusing is on the * button and exposure lock on the shutter button. With this setup if you release the * button after focusing you can touch up the focus manually.

I have the lens on my camera and i have used it today. I took about 150 pics with it and I was using FTM............................
XU88 have never used those 3 lenses that he says don't has ring USM or FTM. Even canon lens works book says they have it. Look in canon camera museum and it will tell you that the 50/1,0 lens has ring USM for silent & quiet AF.
I think that Canon know if their lenses has it...........
