Fantastic images Xu88... vibrant color, lovely composition, and a beautiful model and settings to boot.

That lens was on my 'to get' list, but the need for some decent zooms for landscape work precluded my actually getting one. I am thinking that, after I pick up a tilt shift, that one will be next. I love the feeling these fast Canon L-primes give you. I've been using an 85mm f/1.2L for a good deal portrait work, and I consistently adore the out-of-camera quality I get with ultra-fast primes!

How much post-processing was done to these sample pictures? I'd like you to convince me to spring for the f1.4 instead of the f/2. =D

Not much post-processing was done to these sample pictures.

I took less than 1 minute of post-processing time for each picture.

It is ring USM. Canon say it is. Canon Lens work book also say so. What do you think it is instead of the ring USM ?

EF85/1.2L EF50/1.0L EF200/1.8L are USM lens, but they are not "ring-USM" , so NO FTM available.

EF135/2L EF35/1.4L EF24-70/2.8L EF70-200/2.8L EF28-135IS and many many CANON lens are "ring-USM" now, FTM available.

Maybe something wrong?

You are wrong. Look at Canons site and read about the lenses. I have one of them and it's FTM.
Check at canon camera Museum........

This is what Canon Camera Museum sat about one of the lenses that you say has no ring-USM. 50/1,0

An ultra-fast standard lens with the largest aperture for SLR lenses in the world at the time. Two large-diameter ground and polished glass aspherical lens elements (3rd & 8th) provide high-contrast with low-flare image quality even at maximum aperture. Curvature of field is minimized through use of four high-refraction glass elements. Spherical aberration and curvature of field at close focusing distance are minimized by floating mechanism. A ring USM (Ultrasonic Motor) achieves silent, high-speed AF and full-time manual focusing.

A ring USM motor...........................

SLR Slim and XU88........you guys are a VERY BAD INFLUENCE on me. I had to order one of these wonder lenses today for delivery tomorrow. It's like a addiction. I saw these shots of yours and I was dead meat. I sure hope this lens turns out to be as wonderful as you've portrayed it. I have a feeling it's going to be spending more time on my 20D than I figured.

beautifully photos!

What RAW-converter are you using?
I interest what params (contrast/saturation/sharpness) used for:

71183_1093746124.jpg
71183_1091952938.jpg
71183_1096975667.jpg
71183_1093840010.jpg

Are you correct photos in photoshop?
thanks
