For grins and giggles, I shot a hockey game last night with the 200-500. A little slow to acquire, but tracking was okay. This is the brightest rink I shoot in and a couple seasons ago I experimented with the 150-600 sports there. If I had to choose between them, I'd pick the Sigma because it has push/pull zoom, which makes life much easier when the action picks up.

I just finished going through every single page in this thread and at first I was really doubting that I was going to try this lens, but by midway through the images started to get a lot sharper and by the end I've decided I will try this lens in the spring over a 300 f4. Granted a lot of these pictures are with D5's, D500's, D810's, etc. and I have a D7200.. but this is the next step for me. I wont be shy to return an unsharp version if I get one either.
Thanks to all who have contributed. Amazing shots.

TBT, the good/bad copy with regard to this lens really hasn't surfaced. I've shot this lens with the D5, D500, D810, D7200, and D850. The results with each of these bodies has been outstanding.
