This shot was taken during a family trip to New Zealand.
I was able to escape the hotel for a couple hours and found this uncrowded location not too far from it.
Taken with a Sony A7R + ND Throttle (Variable ND filter) and Canon 24-70mm lens. Hope you like it.
Fred
I have been using ND stacks in my 11-24 and find it very difficult to focus because the image is so dark. I assume you could prefocus here either before attaching the filter or by adjusting it for minimum effect.
That was quite a hotel if this was only a short drive away As all have said before, that foreground in three groups strikes a nice balance and the blending is seamless.
You have me considering the adapter just for the 17 TS-E so that I don't have to deal with a front adapter.

Stunning image Fred. I was just looking at the ND throttle adapter. How are you liking it?
Thanks Scott. The Fotodiox adapter has great tolerance when comparing to my Metabones. Basically it's a EF to NEX adapter with 1-10 stop variable ND built-in. Keep in mind there are no electronics to communicate with the camera therefore it will always shoot at the lens largest aperture (wide open). There are ways to control aperture but it's not as practical as using a manual aperture control lens.

There are workaround for this but you would need to have an electronic adapter to set the lens aperture first or a Canon body with you. Since I always carry my Metabones adapter, it's easy to set the aperture for the lens to use with the ND throttle. As long as you don't keep changing the aperture too much, it's not too much hassle.

Thank you Fred. No issues here as I use old fully manual lenses. This adapter looks very promising and if you're getting results like this with it I am assuming it has next to no effect on image quality. Fairly inexpensive too.
